  1. I was going to post this a while back, but got distracted by the holidays. The great Andy Garcia was walking in the streets of Sofia last month, when he heard a familiar tune being played. The street musician had no idea who he was, even after he sat next to him. Almost brought me to tears the whole thing. Let's hope this video is not blocked, as a couple have been already lol
  2. Price is a very curious case. On stage he is an obnoxious prick, but off-stage he seems like a fairly decent bloke, at least from my observations. Don't mind one bit he lost and could see how his usual antics would rub the fans the wrong way. Plus, the English are supporting the English player duh.. Anyways, on to the 1/2 and if i have some say in it, it's a Anderson - Wade final
  3. I thought this was with only active riders, but surprisingly not. Those Ricardo Ricco fans not on par this time, losing 127 places from last year.
  4. Probably because he will ride with the rest to the finish and just beat them in the sprint. Especially since it's freestyle and he will just tag along.
  5. Every year here, they do this grand ceremony for Athlete of the Year, without even having much to celebrate. But this time, the one year we actually had very good accomplishments, they aren't doing an official ceremony and just announced the results. Anyways, slight surprise for me, as i thought 1 and 2 would be reversed. As always, it is voted by the sports journalists. Athlete of the Year: 1. Ivet Goranova - 1 265 points - Karate - Gold Medal at OG / Bronze at the WC 2. Stoyka Krasteva - 1 241 points - Boxing - Gold Medal at OG 3. Antoaneta Kostadinova - 995 points - Shooting - Silver Medal at the OG 4. Taybe Yusein - 745 points - Wrestling - Bronze Medal at the OG 5. Evelina Nikolova - 721 points - Wrestling - Bronze Medal at the OG 6. Karlos Nasar - 482 points - Weightlifting - Gold Medal at WC / Silver at the EC 7. Josif Miladinov - 459 points - Swimming - Olympic final / Silver at the EC 8. Bilyana Dudova - 415 points - Wrestling - Gold at the WC and EC (didn't go to the Olympics) 9. Boryana Kaleyn - 134 points - Rhythmic Gym. - 5th place at the OG / Silver at the EC 10. Hristo Hristov - 111 points - Weightlifting - 5th at the OG / 4th at the WC / Silver at the EC Team of the Year: -> Rhythmic Gymnastics Group - Gold Medal at OG Coach of the Year: -> Vesela Dimitrova of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Group Athlete with disabilities of the Year: -> Hristiyan Stoyanov - Silver Medal at the Para-OG Fan-favorite from online polling -> Ivet Goranova
  6. It would be fine by me. He has one of the most beautiful throws in my eyes, always a joy to watch his technique. Still, maybe he will need one more favorite withdrawal
  7. Oh man, i wanted Clayton to win.. Of course Gary is still my guy, but he is now in his bumbling old guy phase, so him winning was always out of the question. With all the weird things going around i wouldn't be surprised if we get a random Wade win after his 20 year fails.
  8. Very good chance for to get their first points. We usually get 1-2 so called "death" matches in the knockout system, but this time i don't see any tbh. Should be easy first round for the favorites, but Obersdorf always brings dramatic conditions.
  9. Can't wait for the spring shoes, so they can finally beat Kostadinova's HJ record. I'm surprised "progress" hasn't reached that yet.
  10. Happy Holidays ☃️ 🌲 Wishing everyone and their families mainly lots of health! We have seen how fragile, that can be in the last 2 years and nothing should be taken for granted. Never stop fighting for the ones and things you love, for the goals you want to achieve and everything will fall in it's place.
  11. Noel blunders that last few gates and throws away a secure victory.
  12. I've said it before and i'll say it again, i love these night slaloms (events) in the work week. They have a special feel and look and i can just lay back, relax and watch with much more concentration than on the weekend. It's almost like having a Champions League match. FIS are really missing a big chance, for not making regular events out of this. And not only alpine, you can do it with snowboard, freestyle too. They can get much more attention in this timeslot, than on the crowded weekend.
  13. Kamen Zlatkov in the second run of a WC slalom, something weird is definitely going on tonight
  14. Two DNFs in-a-row, now this is the Sofia Goggia will all know.
  15. Annecy made a strong pitch for a permanent spot on the calendar this weekend. Fantastic atmosphere and the IBU people surely have noticed it. It's becoming Nove Mesto 2.0 The only problem is that there is not enough rounds in a season for them all. And this is without Russia in the picture. To think that once upon a time biathlon was under the hat of modern pentathlon and look how things turned out. One is hitting peak popularity, while the other has been completely forgotten. IBU are probably blessing that split everyday.
  16. Any nation, not named The Netherlands, predicting to win gold medals in speed skating is very optimistic
  17. Is she there to return the big Globe
  18. Rag Mowinckel ruined the Italian trifecta, but nevertheless Sofia G bags another win.
  19. Happy Birthday to the great Tomba la Bomba If only we had an Italian who could win today's race.
  20. Kristina Reztsova showing some stable form. Maybe, just maybe, Russia can have a top woman again after a thousand years.
  21. Everyone knows professional wrestling is scripted. They watch for the storytelling, like you do for a tv series or theater play. Every train has it's passengers. I agree though, that F1 is not like 10-20 years ago. I've barely watched it the past 3-4 years, because of constant anger, but it doesn't mean i don't watch 10 other motorsport championships.
  22. Europe won't leave without a title Fantastic Karlos 374 kg is the same, as Lü Xiaojun did for the Olympic title in Tokyo. What sets him apart from our other lifters, beside the natural ability, is his calm and strong state of mind.
  23. F1 died some time ago. We are just counting the Anniversaries at this point.
  24. Lol Kamen Zlatkov will almost the same time as Marco Schwarz
