Rhythmic Gymnastics FIG World Cup 2021
Federer91 replied to Totallympics's topic in Gymnastics - Rhythmic
All of our experts have been saying how stupid the scoring system has been been in the Groups. On friday our girls got a record breaking for the sport score of 44.150 on the 5 balls composition. And they were saying that things can go even higher, because there are loopholes in the system. It would be possible when Russia takes notes on what we did, that things can go up to 50 points eventually. -
Japan always gets screwed by the juries and today was no difference with 2 lost Globes. Sometimes i wonder how they keep going in this sport, after all the double standards i have seen against the Japanese jumpers over the years. Beyond that, Nika Kriznar (even though she was third best the second half of the season)

Men's Handball Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games
Federer91 replied to VolleyRuller96's topic in Handball
We have a saying here: "It's harder to get to the Olympics, than to compete at the Olympics." And you can say that to individual sports as well. It's a very thin line on how to find the perfect balance of strength and presence. As a fan, i wouldn't want my team/athlete to go to the OG and compete yet again with only the same European teams/athletes that we always play. I'm much more interested in the rare times we play against a non-European country, because it's a luxury for us. That being said, many qualification systems have been preposterous for years and screwing great teams, outside the representation criteria. Continental qualifiers should remain, but they should never, NEVER be after the World qualifier. (prime example volleyball, every single cycle..) They should always be the first ones and then let the best of the rest have a fair shot at a quota. Also, one thing that i never see being mentioned is the damn team host quota. With only 12 teams it's completely unnecessary to give a free pass everywhere, just because you are the host. Given that the OG are hosted only by big countries, it's an almost given that they would qualify teams either way. It won't make or break the interest, if they don't have a place in every single sport, in every gender. 16 teams would be the best option for enough representation and more strong teams not getting screwed, but we all know, that is the IOC nightmare. They would prefer to have 50 sports with 10 people, not named athletics and swimming. -
Peter "No Beard" Sagan makes his return to the winning side Promising for the next weeks, but let's see, if he will have the endurance to hang with the new blood.

Total season ending failure for FIS in every sport. Up to the World Championships everything was going superbly well, given the current situation, with a few small mishaps (Wengen cancellation & Norway not being in Tour de Ski). I was actually shocked how smooth things were going. But March came and brought disaster everywhere. I lost every kind of interest these past 3 weeks... Let's get this weekend over, so we can close the book on this Winter season.

In such situations, it's good that most of our players are from our domestic league and the teams of the few foreign players don't care for them that much.

Motorcycle Racing FIM Grand Prix 2021
Federer91 replied to Totallympics's topic in Non-Olympic Sports
Not sure, if he will return to his previous dominating form after these operations. Sure, it was only the arm, but still he was out for 10 months. There will be some adjusting period. Plus, i think many of the other guys found some new confidence last season and won't be so "afraid" of him and will push back much more seriously going forward. At least this is what i'm wishing for -

The best motorsport championship in present time Moto GP starts the new season this weekend in Qatar. And it will begin without one Marc Marquez who is still recovering after his three operations last year. -
Shocking Alert! At an unofficial national team competition, our 16 year old talent Karlos Nasar went over Lü Xiaojun 81kg World Record in the C&J with 210 kg (WR is 207) Only last week, he had an already equaled 207 throw. You can watch both throws bellow: https://www.facebook.com/sportal.bg/videos/257795972687399/?t=27 https://www.facebook.com/100041716330348/videos/523311725736034/?t=22

Wrestling Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games
Federer91 replied to Totallympics's topic in Wrestling
You think they would add events, if they made up womens GR? How naive. "Hey IOC, we made womens GR, give us now another 6 events and 100 people" While in reality they would make it 5-4-5-4, or even 4-4-4-4, if more cuts are needed. Like mentioned, in 1972 wrestling had 20 events, while now it's down to 18 (with the women being added!) with fewer quotas even. -

Wrestling UWW European Olympic Games Qualifier 2021
Federer91 replied to Totallympics's topic in Wrestling
1:1 for now Korpasi had the easiest match. I expect him to win against Dimitrov every time, he is on another level, even though there was a slight pinfall scare. I hope he gets the quota now, so we won't have him in Sofia. -
It's quite a surprise i would say. It's the final round and i don't know, if the others are more tired, but she usually doesn't ski that fast. Btw, this is the first top 8 finish for a BG woman, since Oslo in 2006.

Was not that familiar with her, but she impressed me. Guess our team also didn't knew her well, because Yaneva had a bad match against her. -

Expected losses in our other two matches. Idiotic mistake by Umarpashaev after a flying start. He will have a tough time getting over this. Like my predictions, just the 1 quota sadly. We are heading for our smallest wrestling team in i don't even know how long. -

No surprise as Harutyunyan makes light work of Yatsenko and takes the second ticket for 57kg.
