Football popularity in India can be broken in 2-3 different groups. First, the traditional football strongholds in India: Kerala/West Bengal/Goa and North East. These regions have been the bedrock of Indian football since a long time and Football World Cup is a big deal there. Normally, you would find a lot of Brazil/Argentina fans in these regions. Also, a lot of Indians in Qatar/Middle East are from the Indian state of Kerala which is crazy about football.

Second and newer group of football fanatics are the EPL/Champions League watchers in urban areas. I don't have numbers but viewership of EPL in India is quite high. And, in the recent past, I have seen that not only is this new generation consuming football and part of the online fan groups of various clubs, but is also contributing to fan driven data/tactic analysis. And in recent past with ease of following other leagues as well, other European leagues are also getting a foothold in India.

And third group would be the followers  of Indian football, outside the traditional regions in group 1. Those who follow Indian team and ISL.

First 2 groups are excited about the World Cup. But, it is the usual excitement and not insane hype. There is not much media coverage or ad campaigns regarding WC. Normal Indian sports fan is more excited about the India-NZ T20 series but there is still a significant group which is excited about Football World Cup. And obviously, those who are residing in Qatar or other Gulf states, are really excited about the World Cup as for them it is almost like a home World Cup.

Ohh I am not denying that most likely Qatar has hired fans. It is almost certain that a good amount of Indians (and other expats in Gulf) are being paid by the organizers to party and enjoy.

    1) A shooter can only earn one quota.
    2) Quota is allocated to NOC and not athlete.
    3) If Greece nominates Korakaki for 10m quota, she can take part in any other event where she has achieved MQS, as long as there are max 2 Greek athletes in that event.

this time the 2 main issues were the difficult economical situation of the Countries (people getting payed too little, taxes too high, bills no longer sustainable -especially those connected to the gas and energy industry) and the war in Ukraine.

But what really killed the "lefties" are all the restrictions and obligations about the pandemic.

Most people don't forget and forgive the longer and stricter lockdown of the entire Continent, the tons of people who lost their job, the kids who got heavily depressed because of that lockdown and the schools basically working only from remote until last Summer (so, for almost 2 full years), the fact that vaccinations were mandatory and those who didn't want to use experimental (and at this point legitimately of doubtful success) vaccines were discriminated badly (they couldn't even go to work, those who still have one, without having continuous tests, which was a torture according to them).

Add a few strictly "typical Italian" questions (all the polemics on immigrants and the safety of our cities) and our everlasting tendency to search for a new government opposite to the last that was in charge (because they always promise what they can't do...and it's the same this time, FdI and their acolytes just can't do even 10% of the things they'd like) and you have a vote like Sunday's.

by the way, in my opinion (and I underline that's just my opinion) their absolute red flags are on their view of the civil rights...surely there will be a strong constriction of those, especially for the LGBTQ+ community, on abortion and on the laws protecting working people in terms of paychecks, safety on the job, arbitrary/unfair dismissals getting a lot easier and things like that).
meanwhile I don't think they would dare to go against EU for what concerns the main foreign politics (war, relationships with the same EU and NATO and things like that), which is also a big concern for those who didn't vote for the new majority.

That's weird. We have created customised widgets so that users can see customised content according to the club they are signed in. So I guess you are not in the Croatian club? Once you join the club, you will see the latest replied thread in the home page and across the forum. And also another block in the home page with the latest replies of the club(s) you are part of.

Please join Team Croatia forum and let me know if you see them.

Yes, I remember. But I think this is not necessary anymore now that we have a tracker for each nation. If this is not enough, in their national clubs users can have a more detailed one. Like the example with Ireland, you can start from the general tracker and then customise it adding more information.

Great work on the new design. Really impressive that we have a major overhaul and the feeling is largely positive. Regarding the national trackers, is it time to bring back the 2012 national tracker? You, with help of others, could make the default one and then interested users can maintain their national trackers.

As others have pointed out, the pictures/pictograms are the election symbols that are allocated to the parties. Honestly, it is the biggest asset of any party. For example, I am a supporter of Narendra Modi-led Bhartiya Janata Party (though my support for BJP predates Modi's rise) and there have been times when I didn't even know the name of the candidate till I entered the polling booth as I knew I had to press the button next to BJP's symbol: Lotus.

There have been various curious things relating to symbols in Indian politics. For example, in 2014, Modi started using Lotus brooch in his public appearances to make the association between Modi and Lotus even more visible. Mayawati, as CM of UP, had erected large statues of elephants everywhere in the state as it was her election symbol. Couple of parties have cycle as their symbol and hence they would hold big cycle rallies. Also, whenever a party splits biggest point of contention between warring factions is who gets the election symbol.

BTW don't see Cricket making it to games. Negligible following in key areas, not much interest from Cricket federations, expensive infrastructure (That is why Cricket has better chance in 2032), no depth and need for 15x8x2 = 240 athletes at the minimum.

The positives: Huge and concentrated following in some areas (Indian subcontinent, Caribbean), Quite different to other team sports.
