We are the Junior Champions So many positives from Junior Hockey World Cup. We were equal to all the teams in fitness level and hence, instead of conceding late goals, we were able to score late goals. Also, unlike the senior team, the junior team was not reliant on PC for goals and large number of our goals were scored from open play. The way senior team mentored the junior squad was really amazing and the packed stadium bodes well. for the future.

Because with IOC putting cap on total medals and athletes, it is a Zero-Sum-Game. These events are coming at the expense of other events which are already there.

In the ongoing Youth World Boxing Championships, 4 Indians have reached the Quarterfinal stage: Sachin (49 kg), Ankush Dahiya (60 kg), Ashish (64 kg) and Naman Tanwar (91 kg).

Good wins for all three against good opponents.

This week, we have Scottish Open. A number of new pairs are taking part here. Akshay Dewalkar will partner Tarun Kona in MD (this is their second tournament). I think Pranaav Chopra has decided to concentrate on his XD pairing with Sikki Reddy and is taking a break from MD. Sikki and Ashwini Ponappa will also start their partnership here. While in XD, top seeds Chopra/Reddy will look to win the tournament and continue to rise in the rankings. Ponappa will also take part alongside K Nandgopal.

Sindhu becomes the third Indian (after Saina/Srikanth double in 2014) to win China Open Superseries Premier event. This is her first Superseries title (3rd Indian to do win a Superseries title as well). Also, she should replace Saina as new Indian no.1 in the next rankings.
