There have been such proposals, but it's not so simple. Dressage arena is quite big (60mx20m), and the judges are positioned at different points. So quite often judge at C can't see something as clearly as judge at E (for example if the piaffe on centerline is on the spot or not). Pure dressage has 7 judges at championships, so outliers are at least not as influential.

So, the first two team members produce worse rounds than all of the individuals so far.

Btw, we won't see this mixture of individual and team competition in Tokyo, as the individual medals will be decided before team medals, for the first time since 1976.

O'Shea and Breen are yet to do a clear in Tryon, so there might be an increased chance of a random clear by the law of large numbers.

And there we have it... Netherlands defeats Great Britain in team para-dressage. Unbelieveable. Must be the first time ever that Great Britain will not take this gold at any championships...

These grooms sitting behind are not allowed to move or talk during a dressage test. They basically have a staring contest, that must be so awkward.

Time for driving, the last of the 8 disciplines to commence at this WEG. Somehow expectedly, driving suffered the most from WEG being held outside of Europe. Only 19 carriages will enter, meaning less than half compared to 4 years ago... Defending team medalists from Hungary didn't even bother to send anyone. Today we start with dressage, marathon phase will be held tomorrow, while Sunday's cones will be the final event of the entire WEG.
