  1. They made a huge improvement, and became the first nation to defeat Great Britain in history of the team event, at any Olympics/Worlds/Europeans... Also a moment when Rixt van der Horst realized she's won an individual gold, caught live during Live@TRYON, was one of the most heartwarming moments of the Games.
  2. Final medal table... Endurance and dressage freestyle were cancelled, what almost certainly removed at least Spain from here. Some highs... - Germany won the medal table for the first time since their home Games in 2006. - USA's most successful Games so far - Italy and Denmark added 3/2 golds to their all-time medal collections that had only 1 gold each - Brazil, Ireland and Sweden entered the medal table for the first time since 1998, 2002 and 2002, respectively - First ever medals for Latvia and Japan. Latvia is also the smallest delegation that will be bringing home a medal (1 athlete) Some lows... - Great Britain lost 7 medals compared to Normandy, Netherlands lost 8 medals (however their para-dressage performed outstandingly well, winning 9/10 Dutch medals...) - France lost 4 medals compared to Normandy - Canada sent the largest delegation that failed to take a medal (34 athletes)
  3. Well, prediction contest medals don't come every day (unless it's July), so I am quite happy to take this silver. I regret a bit for not taking more time with certain predictions, but overall I don't think I could have gone much higher. Anyway, thanks to everyone who took part in this equestrian adventure!
  4. Team Driving United States - 353.39 Netherlands - 356.79 Belgium - 364.09 Individual Driving Boyd Exell - 154.14 Chester Weber - 163.38 Edouard Simonet - 174.15 And that's a wrap. Congrats to medallists, especially Boyd for putting Australia on the medal table in the very final event.
  5. And USA upsets the Netherlands for the team gold.
  6. Drivers are by the way supposed to look like they jumped out of time machine.
  7. Clear for Bram Chardon. Wow, that looked impossible initially. Maybe it's not too late for the Dutch team gold, despite a major flop yesterday...
  8. Degrieck posts the best round so far with only 11.64 penalties. Should help the Belgian team medal aspirations.
  9. First two drivers go some 30 seconds over the optimum time for cones. Now that time is actually difficult.
  10. Btw here is the final episode of Live@TRYON. It was a nice one.
  11. I don't think it's the picture. Probably just all those mixed gender meals he's been devouring.
  12. Well, flight attendant randomly appearing only fulfills this random picture of randomness.
  13. Look! Apparently an Olympic fencing champion from 1976 has randomly appeared at the presentation ceremony.
  14. So in translation his name would be "Ice Man"? FItting.
  15. Is it really "IJsbrand" and not "Ijsbrand"? Seeing that capital J more often than not annoys me. But anyway, IJsbrand/Ijsbrand kind of flopped on yesterday's marathon...
  16. Jumpingwise yes. Otherwise no, as driving medals are still up for grabs later today.
  17. And it's gold for Blum. So close to losing gold on final fence...
  18. Kuhner has 4th place written all over him...
  19. Guerdat inside the time! Medal secured for Swittzerland. Probably Guerdat...
  20. It's B round of show jumping. Earlier it was A round, now B. But yes, caption is not the best. B as in 2nd.
