  1. Sorry? ".. if Germany if Germany ... ", what are you trying to say?
  2. Who said that you are not interested in swimming? Do you have a personality disorder or do i have a personality disorder and forgot that you are my second account? So please help me, are you back to not quoting me again? Its so confusing, you seem to change your mind every couple of weeks ... http://totallympics.com/index.php?/topic/389-athletics-2017-discussion-thread/&page=18 http://totallympics.com/index.php?/topic/578-athletics-iaaf-under-18-world-championships-2017/&page=5 At least be consistent, your behavior gives me the impression that you are a very confused person. I get that its hard to not quote someone, if you spend 24/7 on this website, but i just think it would be nice if you would bring me up to speed, so that i know whether i should even bother to quote you or if i shouldnt wait for an answer ...
  3. Impossible to open your eyes, you refuse to see the truth. Impossible to win medals in swimming without doping, add the fact that hungarian leadership doesnt seem to do anything to catch dopers and you get those results. Its down to who dopes better/is controlled less by their NADA, most western countries stand no chance, we see the same in athletics. People from poor countries, mainly from eastern europe and africa, have nothing to lose by doping, so its a no-brainer. Just give me one reason why a hungarian swimmer shouldnt dope? Your NADA doesnt want to catch you, FINA does nothing to catch you and you can reach a standard of living you otherwise could never reach, if performances are too good to be true (Milak, Hosszu, Kenderesi), than they normally arent "true". The problem is that federations have absolutely no interest in catching dopers, because by doing so they destroy their own product and most countries have absolutely no interest in financing an independet organization like WADA, so nothing will ever change. I would say "Just allow doping", but then nothing would really change, because everyone would still claim that they are clean, so we still wouldnt know for sure. I just hope that most parents are smart enough to tell their kids to not pursue a professional career in swimming or athletics, because you either will never become world class or you will ruin your health forever.
  4. She has been out with injuries for more than 2 months, no surprise to see her off her best, she should still win some golds at the junior world championships. Lets be honest, if you are olympic champion, a world title doesnt do much for you. I am sure she will be at her best in 2020, fighting for the gold in the 100 free and the 100 fly (against Ikee).
  5. Home world championships for Hungary, they have always been shit in the 4x100 free relay and now they suddenly win a medal, cant say that i am surprised though, we all know what Hungary is doing ... just sad. This again reminds me why i stopped caring about swimming more than a year ago: 1) Obvious doping 2) Predictable huge PBs by swimmers from certain countries at every major competition 3) German swimmers are shit 4) Swimming is just boring to watch, because you cant see much and too many races are just not close enough to be exciting. Although this wont change anything about my lack of interest for this sport, i would hope that FINA introduces the following 2 changes: 1) "Glass pools", were you can film everything from the side (like a giant aqaurium) and from below, that way you could see a lot more from the swimmers instead of just looking at them from the top. 2) Get rid of 800/1500 m and instead introduce 50 m fly/back/breast at the olympics. Its just boring to see Ledecky winning every race by multiple body lengths. If you dont want the doping to get too obvious, you should find a way to make races closer. The fact that no swimming outside of the world championships, olympics games and maybe european championships is broadcasted live just shows how unpopular swimming is. Even the world cups in rowing/canoeing are broadcasted in many countries ...
  6. I think the german female 4x100 relay just set a new U20 world record ... ?! Probably the first world record here, Niklas Kaul could also set a new world record by running 4:21 or faster later on. Duplantis probably wont be able to jump 6 m for now, so we probably wont see any more world records.
  7. Very surprising, the swiss girl improved her PB by more than 1.5 seconds, which is extremely weird at a distance of only 400 m ... Switzerland has also Hussein, Kambundji, Zbären, Fontanive and Sprunger. I guess we have to wait how the swiss girl progresses, she was born in 1999, but looks like a 25 year old, so its probably 50/50 whether she will continue to improve or not. It was kinda the same with Zbären, she reached the final in Beijing in 2015 and everyone thought that she would get only better, but then she completely vanished ... Slovenian fans should be happy that they have two great track talents who will be able to compete in London, with Zupan and the male 400 m runner.
  8. I think we all hope that Vivien Varnai will win gold in womens epee, if not her then hopefully Lauren Rembi. Of course its more likely that the final will be Sun/Fiamingo vs. Szasz/Russian girl. Dont care about mens foil, i guess the US finally deserves a gold, but who knows ... maybe Safin gets it. Edit: Dreadful results for french men today: Cadot lost 2:15 against Imboden and even worse, Le Pechoux (world number 10) lost 1:15 against Matsuyama (world number 35).
  9. Overall the level in womens 400 free was pretty bad, but its nice to see younger girls performaning at their best here. I think either Li or Titmus will win a medal. Weird to not see girls like Kapas, Carlin, Friis or Ashwood in this.
  10. I would say more surprisingly no semifinal for Christian vom Lehn, who swam 59.47 at the german championships, but he is a german swimmer, so i guess this shouldnt surprise anyone ... ?
  11. Didnt she win the gold medal in the 200 fly in Rio, which was less than a year ago? She might be less versatile now (no medal chances in the 400/800 free and probably not even in the 400 IM), but i still wouldnt say that this fits the definition of a finished career ... ?
  12. He trained in Germany until the 2016 olympics and last year set his PB of 3:46.88 at the european championships in London, then he decided to go to college, so he dropped almost 3 seconds in about one year, i think there is more to come and at this point he should be considered a favorite for a medal and maybe even for gold. I always thought that he is better at 1500 m, so maybe he can go sub 14:50 there. The fact that he went from 3:46.88 to 3:44.18 by moving from Germany to the US shows how shit german swimming is, i think german swimming should just shut down all their training facilities and instead send all swimmers to the US. Today 4 german swimmers competed, 3 of them were miles off their PB, the third one (Schmidtke) was very close to her PB and easily reached the semifinal ... guess what, she trains in the US all year long.
  13. I didnt really spend much time on their website, but it actually looks really good/fancy ... ?
  14. You are (partly) right. Its not allowed to compete at both european championships, but its possible to compete at U20 european championships and U18 world championships. I think those rules are stupid, everyone who is good enough should be allowed to compete. Duplantis, Sukh and Ingebrigtsen all would have won gold at the U23 european championships, probably some other talents too.
  15. Congrats, easy gold tomorrow, probably could have medalled at U23 european championships. There are many events where the medal winners at the U20 european championships could have medalled at the U23 european championships or the U18 world championships, i think they should seperate those competitions more, so that its possible to compete at all of them or at least two of them.
  16. "Anon guy" what does that mean? No-name guy? (In that case i would agree, never heard of him before, probably a huge fluke, but i shouldnt complain ...)
  17. I think Pizzo won against Lucenay ... so italian fans can stop whining ... Apparently Richard Schmidt, 135th in the world ranking, won his quarterfinal and secured a medal ... ? I never heard of him before and the fact that he wins a medal says a lot about german fencing and mens epee in general, extremely unpredictable. Over the last few years i also noticed that most medals winners in (mens) epee are really old, much older than in the other disciplines.
  18. Didnt he say that he wont do the 200 in London?
  19. The third place finisher in mens 3000 m SC was an american named "Stanley Kipkoech Kebenei", he smashed his PB by 10 s at the age of 27. No one seems to care, but the US isnt really better than Qatar or Turkey. American athletes just seem to have the sense that its their right to be the best in the world, so they think that its ok to dope, this mentality is really pissing me off. Being number 1 is more important than being a good person, i think most kids are taught that from a very early age on and it helps them in many areas, but in other areas (foreign policy) its very harmful. You cant compare the doping of american athletes to the doping of russian, african or chinese athletes. American athletes dope because they think that they are meant to be the best, athletes from other countries dope because they want to earn a better living, so for me the doping of american athletes is much worse.
  20. Since Hassan moved to NOP, she got to a completely different level, guess why ... Impossible to be happy about Wilsons time, she has been caught before, but of course US athletics did absolutely nothing to punish her. WADA needs more power, so that they can hand out real punishments, instead of allowing all national federations to punish according to their own rules. Niyonsaba and Semenya still should be untouchable, but maybe Wilson can beat Wambui for bronze, dont know whether this would be something to be happy about.
  21. Thank you very much, very kind! I hope that she continues to improve, now that she can focus on the sport. Hungary continues to develop great talents, i dont think that hungarian fencing has much more money than german fencing, but their coaches seem to do a great job.
  22. Thanks, great work! So she indeed seems to have an interesting background and might have german "roots". I think from now on she will be my favorite fencer, as there are no german fencers that i could support.
  23. Thanks, any information about her family background? Any newspaper articles about her? Her surname doesnt sound like a typical hungarian name ... ? (Maybe it comes from the german word "Kreis", meaning circle ... or does the word "Kreiss" have any meaning in the hungarian language?)
  24. Is Argentina competing with its best team on the womens side? If so, then this was a very impressive (and deserved) win for Germany. Jamilon Mulders is doing an amazing job with such a young team, considering that Germany had pretty poor results at junior level the last few years. The winning goal for Germany in the quarterfinal was scored by 17 year old Camille Nobis by the way ... I having been saying it for a long time, in my opinion Germany will win the gold medal in Tokyo on the womens side, lets see ...
  25. Does anyone know anything about the background of Fanny Kreiss? I think she will be my new favorite fencer ... In womens foil i think Deriglazova should win the gold comfortably, hopefully ahead of Thibus, who is one of my favorite female fencers. Sauer did better than expected, while Ebert and Golubytskyi did very poorly, the same is true for the male german sabre fencers, very bad performances by all of them. German fencing is still shit and it will never change, not enough money and the money they have is wasted.
