Hello ... ? Where have you been? This has been a huge story and it also shows the historic quality of Hungary in this event. We could have possibly seen an hungarian sweep of the medals, if he would have been allowed to compete. The US had the same quality in mens backstroke a couple of years ago, but right now Hungary in mens 200 fly is the biggest dominance by any nation. The fact that Hungary should still have 2 guys in the top 4 shows that. I think medals will be between Japan and Hungary, add the fact that Hungary has the home advantage and its very hard to see Hungary not winning the gold. This is one of not too many events where we could see a fourway battle for gold, the other events are probably mens 50/100 free, mens 200 breast, womens 200 breast, womens 200 fly, mens 200 back and mens 400 IM. In womens 50/100 free (Sjöstrom), womens 200/800 free (Ledecky), womens 400 IM (Hosszu), womens relays (USA), mens 1500 free (Paltrinieri), mens 100 fly (Schooling/Dressel), mens 200 IM (Hagino), mens relays (USA) we have 1 or 2 clear favorites. The retirement of Phelps certainly has made mens 200 fly and mens 200 IM more interesting.
