Both Bobsleigh and Luge - which have a much lower audience overall - pay for a professional commentator on their streams, and they also pick up various athletes on location to do expert analysis. It makes such a huge difference to the watchability of the streams, to spectator understanding of the sport and also promotes the athlete-commentators as personalities. Sheer foolishness.
