    She's also the first to medal in multiple individual events / to medal at two different Olympics. And frankly the 1904 Olympics as a whole were just sort of a joke that I humour only because Canada did relatively well xD And ya, Ko medaling twice is a huge accomplishment. Golf is incredibly high variant (see: the boy from Bratislava winning silver :P ) and the field has a lot of depth - there are just a *lot* of good golfers out there.

    Noah Lyles did a "give me your energy" pose before the 200m finals, and the Chinese 4x100m men's team did a synchronized kamehameha before the finals yesterday. DBZ fans are taking over the Olympics :D

    Last night I dreamed that Canada won gold in women's football on penalties after missing three attempts in a row, but that's obviously too fantastical to be real.

    Not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere, but Eddy Alvarez will become only the sixth athlete to win a medal in both the summer and winter Olympics, in what is perhaps the most unlikely combination of sports (short track and baseball). Previous medal combinations have been speed skating and cycling (twice), bobsleigh and athletics, ski jumping and sailing, and bobsleigh and boxing.

    After the women's football final I feel like I can't ask the sporting gods for anything ever again.

    TBH given all the adversity LVL went through I think we have to be quite happy about this result.
