pdr4332 got a reaction from thiago_simoes in Skateboarding at the Summer Olympic Games 2020
I second the opinion of Thiago, this was the first skateboarding competition I watched in my life and it was a funny and enjoyable event. Scoring will be adjusted hopefully but the competition itself is certainly TV friendly (more than surfing, IMO)

GOLD in fencing!
And for the first time since 1980 Italy doesn't win any fencing gold medals in the individual events...

At least here in Brazil, skateboarding was a HUGE hit and I'm sure Brazilians will RIOT if it gets removed from the Olympics.
I agree that the format of the competition is not great, though. This is the Olympics, not some random best trick competition. Both runs should count, with no discarded scores, and three out of five tricks should also count.
And even though two Brazilian skateboarders got medals, Brazilian fans are in love with the Peruvian male skateboarder and the Filipina skateboarder. This sport needs some adjustments, but I have to say it's now one of the top 5 Olympic sports I'm going to watch, with or without Brazilians competing.

pdr4332 got a reaction from hckošice in Your Tokyo 2020 Schedule
I dont have such detailed schedule as our colleague from Kosice, but:
- Originally I did not plan to stay up for anything else than Milak, but this night I attempt to watch the skateboarding women's competition (street) from the qualifier onwards - not sure until when I can stay awake
- 8.30: Women's water polo vs. ROC
- 12:00: Gymnastics team competition - M
- Then in the rest of the time watch from replay Canoe Slalom & parts of swimming

Slalom canoeing is an excellent way to test the picture quality of your providers’ streaming service.

Don't think so. Lot more commentaries available today.

To be honest very few people are and it is just fake outrage because it is a political issue to bash the BBC
Generally, both them and Eurosport have been very good here

Second Olympics for and a second gold medal, from a second different judoka. That's really impressive.

Krasniqi upsets Japan in Japan!
With 'upsets' being relative in this case, of course, since it's not like she wasn't a favourite to begin with.

Szilágyi is in the Top4 for the third Games in a row, that alone is such huge achievement in men's sabre.

Well yeah badminton messed up but no problem
I don’t know how famous the show outside Asia, but “Masquerade” or Kasou Taisou is basically my childhood. Even my brother and sister who was uninterested with the whole ceremony stopped to watch that section.
He’s present at the presscon, probably clarified about the badminton mistake

Hartung must find this amusing, his road to the SF is through 3 Hungarians, he may have to beat the entire Hungarian sabre team to reach the Top4.

This is what I am debating as well (whether or not I should continue to use this forum).
I have a number of nicks already on ignore (mostly simple trolls, and culture-war trolls)
But an user going to your FB page to attack you - wow that's just another level
Of course I don't visit the politics thread at all, as a I don't come here for discussing politics and the last thing I want is to debate foreign admirers of V. Orban, the despicable "prime minister" of my unfortunate country.

One more thing.
It would be interesting to know what the Japanese people (in Japan at least) are thinking about Naomi Osaka's role in the ceremony. Do they like it, do they dislike it?
If someone speaks Japanese or has access to Japanese press, feel free to look it up in the coming days.

Well, crap.

Its not worth debating with rajiv. Since I read his/her rambling posts, they denounced/insulted "Eastern Europe" (this together), Germany, Italy, and a bunch of other countries and regions. Might even be a troll.
