    "Run-jump-throw",  WTF

The Hunt-Pursuit relay sound like some equestrian event. 3 very specific field events, for whatever reason. And a knock-out format.

Back from the 2017 Invictus Games, which are really inspiring!

@heywoodu The Dutch team was by far the loudest team in the stands for any sport I was at.

Since this is an Olympics forum... I thought Canada's entry should be Olympic related. k.d. lang's rendition of Hallelujah at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver was my ceremony highlight of any Olympics I have seen.

Hahaha yes, well, we had both Hockey teams in Vancouver Mens and Womens which obviously significantly improved the quantity of our delegation

but at least your single athlete had a 10000000x better outfit than the whole our contingent

and yes I remember it, just saw the opening ceremony for example last week, as I re-watch regularly the Vancouver Olympics..I know I´m not normal but what can I do ? Vancouver 2010 are for me the best of the best, so many emotions and memorable things, from the tragic Kumaritashvili accident the day of the opening ceremony, passing by the first ever gold for our winter olympic appearances in Day 1 until the Sydney Crosby epic gold medal goal...the whole Olympics 2010 are for me just really special

The forced gender equality is bad, but this stupidity would be worse.

The point of the olympic games (I mean, from ancient greece) was athletic competition between nations (cities/kingdoms back in the day) and crowning national heroes. This would throw away all that tradition just for the sake of "inclusion".

Apparently they approved the Dominican Republic at this year's 'spring meeting' and they have an 'autumn meeting' in October so maybe Jordan will be approved there?

For those of you interested in the Puerto Rico situation they sent me this:

The guidelines to participate are highly subjective.

Because all Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens, the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee is very sensitive to mainland U.S. persons using them as a back door into the Olympics. In an Olympic year, I typically get a couple of e-mails from people who think our federation is some sort of sports fantasy camp, and promise to “promote” Puerto Rico if they go to the Olympics. So, to answer your question, with the current political environment, a prospective Olympic competitor for Puerto Rico would have to be born on the island, have multi-generational Puerto Rican ancestry, and be somewhat of a threat to win a medal. We had a native-born 50-point slalom skier who should have gone to both Vancouver and Sochi; however, because she was more American than Puerto Rican, they wouldn’t send her.

Charles Flaherty is definitely American. His family are bona-fide residents of Puerto Rico, but he’s still facing an uphill battle to go to Korea. We hope he can convince the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee (COPUR) to send him, but nobody is holding their breath… :-/

Not happy with women's canoeing just for the sake of adding it, but the possibiity of 2 gold medals is hard to get mad at.

Of course I wasn't serious, but anyway I would like to see what results Ledecky would have training in our system  I hope this girl is drafted by american university soon, the further away she's from here the better.

The 1500 wasn't her best race... until yesterday. In fact, I was very surprised by this time, I was expecting something like 16:10 at best. I'm also surprised the american Sullivan made such a weak time here being that she made monster 15:57 just two weeks ago.

I know about the chinese girl not being here but I feel that girl's results will mysteriously get worse in a few years
