    The World Cup invites the top two teams in the world rankings from each continent, so in essence if the world ranking is stupid, so is this tournament.

    Television revenus are at an all time high. Broadcasters continue to pay a ridiculous amount to show them. Tt beimg dropped will not make a difference.

    The Usa has never won the World Baseball Classic... Which is full of Mlb stars.

    That's just South Asia. IMO there is only room for one bat/ball sport, and that should be baseball/softball as its more globalized.

    I don't think a mixed artistic event would work, where would all the apparatuses fit?

    I too was against canoe slalom, but it does have a diversity (albeit with European nations) on the top, but canoe slalom is quite a fun sport to watch. It just needs more events (maybe like 8 in total) and yes the venue does not need to be extravagant. The Pan Am Games had a natural river used and I believe it was the cheapest venue to be built.

    Two Colombian skaters definitely have a chance. Causil is less than a second off the qualification time for Sochi (and with 3 max per nation) it should be easier to qualify in the 500m event. Also iirc another Colombian skater was a reserve for the mass start at the world championships last year (so he just missed the cut).

    FINA made a requirement that reserve swimmers must compete in the heats or finals, otherwise the team will be dqd. Athletics should do the same thing.

    FIS and thr ISU has them up. IBU is the worst when it comes to these type of things. It can also indicate there are changes not finalized yet.

    It seems as though the most popular idea is expanding the beach volleyball draws to 32 teams. Hope it happens.

    Baseball is not a core sport, and its extremely doubtful it will become one unless one of the current sports comes off.

    Just to throw it out there: Canoeing, field hockey, taekwondo and modern pentathlon were in the bottom five with wrestling, to get the axe back when wrestling was dropped.
