  1. Doesn’t look like we’ll manage to pull off the upset, but so proud of the girls for their performance regardless
  2. Buzzer beater by Van der Sprong… and Netherlands leads Canada 53-49 after the 3rd quarter.
  3. At the half, Canada leads Netherlands 35-33! Arinn Young with two clutch free throws at the end.
  4. At the half, lead 35-33! Probably not going to last but…
  5. Oh by the way, Trinity Lowthian’s 5th in women’s category B epee is Canada’s best ever result at the Paralympics in wheelchair fencing! Edit: And she’s only 19 too, she’s got a bright future ahead of her!
  6. Dandeneau 12 points effort so far, early in the 2nd quarter!
  7. This v. semifinal in women’s wheelchair basketball is getting very interesting 22-22 early on in the 2nd quarter.
  8. Netherlands lead Canada 16-12 after the 1st quarter. Disastrous start, but then they found their offence and defence, closing on a 9-0 run.
  9. GOLD FOR CODY FOURNIE, HE DOES IT AGAIN! 19.63 in the men’s 100m T51, a new Paralympic record!
  10. Ouch, Viera Da Cruz false started and got DQ’d, but she didn’t realize and looked so happy to have won a medal.
  11. With Russian participation banned in some events.
  12. WORLD RECORD Sebastian Massabie takes down the WR in men’s 50m freestyle S4 by a massive margin in 35.61!
  13. I missed that. Well that adds another medal contender then.
  14. Tonleu really bringing his A-game today, every time they substitute him Germany goes on runs
  15. I would be a sore loser too if I lost a race and had to wear a Swedish kit
  16. Recapping today’s results so far. Trinity Lowthian through to repechage 4 in women’s category B epee, after wins over Cho and Pasqino. Austin Smeenk through to the men’s 800m T34 final. Mary Jibb through to the women’s 100m butterfly S9 final, and Seb Massabie through to the men’s 50m freestyle S4 final.
  17. Oops, another day where I completely forgot to do a preview. Well, given the day is almost half over, I’ll highlight the rest of what’s going on. On the track, Marissa Papaconstantinou will look to go one better on her 200m result in the women’s 100m T64 (final at 10:11 AM PST/1:11 PM EST), while Renee Foessel in women’s discus throw F38 (final at 11:32 AM PST/2:32 PM EST) and Cody Fournie in men’s 100m T54 (final at 12:09 PM PST/3:09 AM EST) are other strong medal chances. In swimming, Canada try and improve on their haul of 10 medals as Alec Elliot goes in the men’s 100m backstroke S10 (final at 9:05 AM PST/12:05 PM EST) and Aurelie Rivard competes in her final event of these Paralympics, the women’s 100m backstroke S10 (final at 9:12 AM PST/12:12 PM EST) Women’s wheelchair basketball team takes on Netherlands, although they’re so outmatched that I’m pretty sure it’ll turn out as a loss unfortunately.
  18. China take the first two sets, unsurprising but still hoped for more.
  19. That dig by Oakes at 1-3 in set 2
  20. women’s sitting volleyball team is really good Actually, for me they were marginal (small though) favourites for gold pre-Paralympics, so I shouldn’t be that surprised, but every time I watch them
  21. I don’t have time, I need to leave in about an hour
