  1. WITH ANOTHER QUOTA!!!!!!! Bit lucky near the end, but so so happy for Nicholas D’Amour
  2. No. Team events will only be at the Pan American Championships from April 9-14 (there’ll also be individual events in compound and recurve featuring Valencia and Almeida), although both this and the Pan American Championships will be at the same venue. FYI this is the Pan American Olympic Qualifier, only for individual events.
  3. Men’s Semifinals Nicolas D’Armour v. Mario Jajarabilla Oscar Ticas v. Santiago Arcila
  4. Great recovery by Ticas after starting off set one with an 8.
  5. Men’s -80kg Quotas Joaquin Churchill Henrique Marques
  6. Women’s -67kg Quotas Kristina Teachout Madelyn Rodriguez Leslie Soltero out of the Olympics
  7. Men’s -68kg Quotas Edival Pontes Bernardo Pie
  8. I don’t agree. I feel like I’ve underestimated Leonarda Andric as I don’t know much about her but she’s actually a quality fighter and it wasn’t that much of an upset. Of course, I would’ve preferred Kraayeveld should they have selected women’s -67kg as one of Taekwondo Canada’s weightclasses but I’d think she’d have a solid chance at a quota as long as she wasn’t on the same half as Soltero. She’s had a good record since going pro in 2017. Kafadar “winning” a quota was a HUGE surprise, she wasn’t expected to be amongst the contenders, and the Colombian athlete was robbed anyways IMO.
  9. Quota for Josipa Kafadar in women’s -49kg at the Pan American Taekwondo Olympic Qualifier. Great surprise. Edit: Whoops didn’t see your reply @james89
  10. Quota for Josipa Kafadar in women’s -49kg Taekwondo Canada, I take that back…
  11. team for the Race Walking Team World Championships Would be a massive surprise if we secure a quota. https://athletics.ca/blog/2024/03/27/canadians-selected-for-the-2024-world-athletics-race-walking-team-championships/
  12. Women’s Medalists Gold- Kristine Esebua Silver- Virginie Chenier Bronze- Alondra Rivera
  13. Rivera v. Cotto for bronze, and Esebua v. Chenier for gold.
  14. Kristine Esebua and Virginie Chenier help secure a quota for Canada in women’s individual archery through the Pan American Continental Qualification Tournament!
  15. Women’s Semifinals v. v. Olympic quota places to
  16. 7th for Madison Richardson (formerly Fischer I believe) at the first bouldering World Cup of the season in Keqiao! Very good result for her.
  17. Well probably our three best athletes in the Olympic Ranking… so that’s Nicholas Hoefling in men’s -58kg, Marc-Andre Bergeron in men’s +80kg, and most importantly Ashley Kraayeveld in women’s -67kg. I don’t care if Kraayeveld didn’t win her weightclass at Trials, I would still select her regardless. She’s the clear #2 Pan American athlete in her weightclass, about 90 points ahead of the Chilean athlete in #3. But maybe that’s just me
  18. Taaekwondo Canada didn’t select their three best athletes, so I can’t say I’m expecting anything here. Hoping for at least one semifinal.
  19. Missed tripping call leads to a 3 on 1 for and Kirsten Simms nets in the OT winner These refs need to be fired, what a horrible call
  20. For women’s team qualification, it’ll be key to avoid Mexico on our half of the draw, and get either Brazil or United States.
  21. and still tied 0-0 after 3 periods, which means we’re heading to overtime!!
