  5. After the news on the fire that occurred and the damage it had done I was hoping that they would switch it to Toronto, the Pan Am Centre is a faster pool and I’m expecting great times there. On the other hand, I feel sorry for the families who will have to scramble to change their tickets from Montreal to Toronto just one month out from Trials.

  10. This thread will be used to track Canada’s most notable performances on the road to it’s Olympic debut at Milano-Cortina 2026! Emma Cook-Clarke and Kylee Ohler are our best female athletes, while on the men’s side Matt Ruta is our best athlete. Bit of a tossup whether we qualify however, we’re quite far down the rankings and will likely be relying on a continental quota unless something drastic changes.

Hockey (Canucks in the NHL, and Women’s World Championships), Swimming (Canadian Open/TYR Pro Swim Series Westmont), Curling (Grand Slam of Curling Players Championship), Tennis (Monte Carlo Masters), Wheelchair Basketball (Final Paralympic World Qualifier), 3x3 Basketball (Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament 1), Sitting Volleyball (probably the men’s/women’s finals at the Final Paralympic World Qualifier), Track Cycling (UCI Nations Cup Milton), Athletics (basically whichever meets I can find that seem interesting), Football (Women’s Euros Qualification), Taekwondo (Pan American Olympic Qualifier) Unfortunately, no Mixed Doubles Curling Worlds or the Pan American Archery Olympic Qualifier as both are PPV I’m also going to be following along (this is just for me) with the results of the first Rowing World Cup of the season in Varese, FIVB Guadalajara Challenge in Mexico (maybe I’ll watch, we’ll see…), European Wrestling Olympic Qualifier, Stockholm Open/South Africa Olympic Trials/Australian Championships/New Zealand Olympic Trials in swimming, and Weightlifting World Cup Phuket.

  18. With the Paris Olympics coming up, I decided to construct a list on potential athletes for our eventual Olympic squad for Paris. I’ll be doing my best to update some of the results from these athletes (if not already reported about) heading into the Canadian Olympic Trials. When the Canadian Olympic Trials are over and our Olympic squad is set, I’ll be doing the same thing for athletes heading into Paris. To make it easier for me I’m only including names that have had performances either in 2023 or 2024, which means that names like Knight and McBride are not on the list. Also, for SBs/PBs none of the races are short track or have wind above 2.0m/s. I might be missing a few names, let me know if I am.   19. Team Gushue win silver after a 5-6 defeat to Sweden in the gold medal match. Really couldn’t have done much more in that 10th to steal, they were so close to recording the victory. Gushue is now 1-4 in World Championships gold medal matches. Not a great stat.
