  1. v. for gold, and an all African bronze medal match with v.
  2. Women’s Semifinals Clancy/Mariafe v. Duda/Ana Patricia Hüberli/Brunner v. Humana-Parades/Wilkerson Men’s Semifinals Ehlers/Wickler v. Mol/Sørum Åhman/Hellvig v. Cherif/Ahmed
  3. Biased referee, who has been making shit calls in favor of the French all tournament long.
  4. Today was a much better day for Canada overall, even though there was less events going on, and a couple of major (and not so major) disappointments too. Alysha Newman won a somewhat surprising (I knew she had it in her, just didn’t think she could pull it together at the Olympics) bronze in women’s pole vault with a NR of 4.85m, Melissa Humana-Parades/Brandie Wilkerson swept Alvarez/Moreno to advance to the semifinals in women’s beach volleyball, Sarah Douglas finished 3rd in the medal race to record a top 8 in women’s ICLA6, Michelle Russell (women’s K1-500m) and Connor Fitzpatrick (men’s C1-1000m) both advanced to the semifinals, Kelsey Mitchell and Lauriane Genest both through to the quarterfinals in women’s keirin, and although Josipa Kafadar lost 0-2 to Stojkovic in the women’s 49kg round of 16 it was a valiant effort. Unfortunately, we had a few bad results today too, and a couple were medal contenders Andre DeGrasse failing to qualify for the men’s 200m final is at least somewhat understandable as he re-aggravated his hamstring injury, but no excuses for Mo Ahmed (not as if DeGrasse’s was an excuse, but you get what I mean) as he got clipped from out in front. Edit: Oh and also our teams flopping in track cycling.
  5. At the Paris Diamond League a couple of weeks ago. He also has a few 8:15/8:16’s from this and last year.
  6. If you consider 6 seconds off close then sure, but his PB is 8:13.11, and his time was 8:19.34.
  7. Sick celebration by Alvarez
  8. Many many mistakes? I don’t think so, I think that’s just who he is as a person.
  9. Do none of you seriously know what N’Gapeth has done, or is there a joke that I’m not getting? If you haven’t, search it up online, he doesn’t deserve to be fighting for a gold at the Olympics.
  10. It’s not that, it’s what he’s done.
  11. Another surprise medal for as Rooks wins silver
  12. El-Bakkali defends his Olympic title! What drama!
  13. Yep, she’s been leaked before.
  14. Mol/Sørum defeat Herrera/Gavira in straight sets (In the Spaniards last tournament as a partnership), and are through to the semifinals
  15. Wow, gold for Stona with an OR!
  16. First Olympic medal for since Atlanta 1996, where Matete won bronze in the men’s 400m hurdles.
  17. For me my favourites are Kharun in men’s 100/200m butterfly (what a shock! not), and Harvey in women’s foil. At least for Canadian medals
