  1. What's the purpose of this 'research'? You're not obliged to cover this event at work?
  2. Ekaterina Alexandrova defends the Den Bosch 250 title beating Veronika Kudermetova 4-6 6-4 7-6(3) in the final.
  3. Well, US media have speculated already some teams will overpay a few centers now and try to find a poor man's Jokić for lack of better word. And we'll see if scouting European leagues becomes trendy again now that more & more March Madness "one & done" heroes just don't hit out of the gate anymore.
  4. Katie Boulter wins Nottingham 250 over Jodie Burrage 6-3 6-3. This is only the second time in the last 20 years a player has won WTA title without having to face an opponent ranked inside Top 130 in the world
  5. It's also part of a bigger picture IMO. With every team seemingly playing the 3pt small ball these days, a team that actually fields an old school center as #1 player can have a clear advantage. There are some good defenders left but most teams apply the "we can outscore then rather than stop them" logic. It's clearly the case with Mavericks. We'll see if more teams will try to copy the Nuggets concept but the center basically has to play like a few inches taller Larry Bird (which Jokic does IMO) to find such success...
  6. All Russian final in Den Bosch -> defending champion Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Veronika Kudermetova. All British final in Nottingham -> Katie Boulter vs Jodie Burrage (both in their first WTA final ever). Also the first all-British WTA final since... 1975
  7. I presume it will be 2+2 so no luck for Slovakia there...
  8. WTA 250 Semi-Final line-ups: Nottingham Alize Cornet vs Jodie Burrage Katie Boulter vs Heather Watson Den Bosch Veronika Kudermetova vs Viktoria Hruncakova Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich
  9. Grass tennis could be hazardous to your health. Elizabeth Mandlik in action at Nottingham...
  10. Gregg Berhalter is back as NT head coach. Guess even Americans have some common sense and dragging a 30 year old incident backfired on Gio Reyna after all. Either way Reyna probably has zero meaningful future in the NT and he's almost certain not to fulfill the early promise. Next man up! https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/65934063
  11. Only the second time ever we've beaten Germany (not counting the mighty version)
  12. Well, most of the W Series regulars have jumped to F1 Academy since FIA basically created that women series under its own roof. W Series was destined to extinct after that series was formed. Jamie Chadwick is toiling as rookie in Indy Lights (NXT) where she has had many incidents so far and struggles to even crack Top 10 last time I watched. Dare I say it's gonna be nearly impossible to even find the next Simona de Silvestro among this Academy bunch. Danica Patrick was a marketing project even late in her IndyCar career and it went haywire after she chased the NASCAR money but that's water under the bridge now. Natalie Decker has crashed her way out of the NASCAR Trucks (and she failed the initial W Series driving test) and there's still Hailie Deegan in the Trucks who has had mediocre results for three years overall but she can sell the glamour looks. Guess the WEC Iron Dames are the current high-water mark for women in racing, Christina Nielsen is still doing IMSA last time I checked.
  13. For someone like Kuzmova --> yes It's on grass and I suspect Rybarikova from the couch could still beat all active Slovakians on grass
  14. Veronika Hruncakova (Kuzmova) into Den Bosch QF with an upset win over Bianca Andreescu @hckošice
  15. Oakland Athletics won SEVEN games in a row and shafted the horrendous Kansas City Royals to the worst record in the league Meanwhile LA Angels won two straight vs Rangers on the road and it seems like their season might not be finished before the All-Star Break for a change
  16. Well, the expansion draft rules are very much pro-expansion these days, obviously it was to respond to the ultimate punchbags of the by-gone expansion era but the swing has gone too far in the other direction IMO.
  17. Denver Nuggets are NBA champions for the first time in history. 4-1 series over Miami Heat. Totally deserved and also shut down all the negative media narrative. Nikola Jokic has moved himself over Luka Doncic as the best European player right now?
  18. Nick Taylor won the Canadian Open. Adam Hadwin wanted to congratulate him but was mistaken for a crazy fan and promptly tackled by the security I mean if this happened in Middle East or USA then I could understand it but it appears Hadwin is unrecognizeable even in his own country
  19. Pigeon racing is popular in my region and I know a lot of people who are involved. I suspect the pigeon will fly away on his own once he gathers more strenght. Delays of 3-4 days in arrival times are nothing special so I suspect this fella might stay with @hckošicefor a few days
  20. Italy used all the joker cards for the COVID-postponed events like Olympics or European Champs here and there
  21. But that's the thing, like half of the events won't even be held in Kraków. Małopolska my ass... Karate in Bielsko-Biała? Shooting in Wrocław? Like really? Padel & teqball on the Old City Market sounds like a good idea to promote these events but who is gonna watch breakdance in Nowy Sącz?
  22. That's a very depressing musical line-up alright and I don't even recognize three of these names Pop, folk and two old timer rock musicians. Oh, well...
  23. Meanwhile the Polish bakery Inter Europol team wins LMP2 class Not bad for a country with only one operational race track
  24. Pier Guidi stalled the car on the last pitstop and took ages to restart it. Good thing they had such a big lead or else...
  25. Well, it's not like endurance racing hasn't seen its share of mercenary drivers Would be quite a feat if Ferrari wins Nurburgring 24 hours and Le Mans 24 hours within few weeks of each other...
