I was a Sharapova fan so I'll pass on talking about that match Anyway, Emma Raducanu has WD with a wrist injury after MD started so it's clear she only came here to collect sponsor appearances or whatever. She will be out of Top 100 after Madrid and Jodie Burrage (who basically mostly plays ITF events) is the new number 1 Raducanu was trying to flip off journalists yesterday but she ought to have said she ain't playing which she tried to conceal for no valid reason. I expect Daily Mail & co. to bring out more heat soon. Good luck in trying to put on a diva hat vs the media...2 points -

Argentina Nationals started today. I don't expect any OQT this week, but on the first night Macarena Ceballos was really close with a big PB in the 100m BR (1:07.29), just shy of the national record from Julia Sebastian (1:06.98) and the OQT (1:06.79). It's the only "A" time for Fukuoka today too. Other interesting time: 15yo Agostina Hein set an age group record in the 800FR (8:38.89).1 point

I'm actually a fan of Raducanu - she was a breath of fresh air for British women's tennis which had been in a bit of a rut despite the best efforts of Baltacha, Konta, Watson and Robson - but she is frustrating and the novelty is beginning to wear off a bit. Whoever has been acting as her advisors since winning the US Open have done her a real disservice. She has barely been able to string 2 wins together, she's gone through coaches like they are disposable tissues, she dissed the country's BJK team and barely a month goes by where we're not hearing something about an injury. At some point, if she is going to carry on in tennis, she is going to have to swallow her pride and step down to the WTA 125K events and go on to the ITF circuit. It might not be as glamourous as the main tour, but there should certainly be no shame in getting a decent foundation of matches under your belt.1 point -
