  1. First quota for Mexico Men's 200m Breaststroke Miguel Alejandro DE LARA OJEDA - 2:09.60 - National Qualifier "Nuevo Leon 2023" The event was a late addition to the official competitions, due to the dispute between national federation and World Aquatics' backed Committee, which this weekend has been determined to be the legitimate representative for Mexican competitors in this sport by CAS

  2. This kind of "both sides suck" thinking doesn't work in the current era of politics when one side clearly give MUCH more freedom to its people and its states. If both sides would be the same, UK wouldn't have had the chance to exit the EU, Hungary wouldn't get away with everything that its leadership did in the past 13 years and so on. I have been to both Western Europe and Russia, I have relatives living in both the West and the East, and it blows my mind when someone pulls the "both sides" card every time, because you need some high level mental gymnastics to believe in such a thing. And this also seems like a very dated, Cold War era way of looking at it, when it's far more simple. This entire conflict is the final death rattle of a dying, fading Russia, their last attempt at reviving their past glory before they fade from the world stage and officially become a middle-tier power. Russia is destroying themselves, not the West. So playing this "both sides" card is even more pointless, the West doesn't even have to be the good guys in this, just to be sensible to see that Putin is on the path of total self-destruction.

  3. tbh, I don't like it at all... it would make things extremely boring. the beauty of an athletics meet is the variety of events going on in those 2 hours. and track running, especially the middle and long distances, normally get too much coverage and attention than they deserve (get rid of pace makers and don't allow too many athletes from the same commercial club/manager in the same race to make it more interesting). meanwhile it's the exact opposite for the field events.

  5. Like i said before, this is question of ethics. Living in both sides actually doesnt prove a thing. I see decrepited policies in both systems. You personally are just more prone to western system which is ok, as long as you arent biased against the east. Westerners are programed to hate Russians, vice versa too. I dont like Russia at all. I dont like communism at all. I dont like hipocrisy of West niether. But i dont hate both of them niether. Thats the difference. To be honest, i wont stand for Russia but niether for Ukraine. Your POV is just yours, not necessarilly right one. Same goes for me. So, you should try to respect that others have different opinion than yours. For the second part, you could be right. Russia could be fading, but its their decision and destiny. They asked for it. As a humanist, i feel sorry for people there, for the great culture they had. But again, its wheel of future cant be changed.

  11. Fun stuff from Double-A ball. Rocket City Trash Pandas (that's their name) threw a no-hitter against Chattanooga and lost 7-5. Five walks, four hit by pitches, a wild pitch, and a two-run error that would have been the third out, put Chattanooga ahead 7-3 in the final inning.

• Gabriel Burtanete in finala de la individual compus (locul 17 in calificari).

  15. I read a lot about Soviet (Russian) policies, always condemned what they did in 1956 and in 1968, 1979. I also condemned February 2022 action. So my POV was clear from the beginning. But Ukraine did many poor political decisions since 1991. I dont see 2014 turmoil as something nice and productive at all. And i dont see them as completelly innocent at all. Not the ordinary people, but political leaders. From Kuchma, Poroshenko...up to Zelenski.

  17. So, western world (whole world actually) is built on hipocrisy, not a democracy. Thats a biggest catch. That loophole is exploited by Russia, for more than 100 years. Their ratio - if democracy is a farce, we are living in anarchy where everyone can take whatever they want so why shouldnt we take parts that were (their POV) russian in the past. Same thing is done by USA, by UK, by France. Every action needs reaction, thats the start of cold war. West doesnt like communism, they will do everything to destroy it. Russia doesnt like West, they will do everything to destroy it. Both sides, both extreme poles dont give a .... about humanity, ethics. If both sides take humanity as the main principle, we wouldnt have this war at the first place.

  23. From what i read (not russian sources), parts of Ukrainian people are really into nazism, since ages. Bandera and so on. But its ok for the rest of the world, as whoever fights Russia is ok and ally. Same thing in 1979, mujahedeens were western allies. Same ones who turned Afhganistan in failed state. Something doesnt seem right

@intoronto@Olympian1010Do you know if the Copa Merengue archery competition this week is the "Qualification event" mentioned in the Qualification Systems packet. In the packet the event is scheduled for June 2023, but World Archery has this tournament as a Pan Am Games qualifier.

  39. Once again it’s all because we are both not the one on the court facing bullets and missiles. We are the one typing on keyboard and restructuring world order based on our own geopolitical idealism. Yet people are continuously dying. From my point of view, maybe your death makes hero at this point, but 20 years 50 years later, no one remember s you except your beloved ones. And your sacrifice may even become a joke at that timing.

  40. Russia will never be satisfied because their ultimate goal is become a superpower again, but the war in Ukraine proved that Russia is way too powerless for those ambitions. They will eventually become a puppet state of China, so the current discussions should be between the West and China, not between the West and Russia. The fate of Ukraine and Russia will be decided based on what the US and China want. Russian propaganda says Ukraine is just a chess piece for the US and they fail to realize that Russia has also became a smaller piece in this game. And I think China will be very satisfied by a Russian defeat in this war if it will mean that they will have significant control over a weakened Russia and its resources. China can gain more with this conflict than the West/US, a fully victorious Ukraine is still less of a prize than Russia. And Russia will lose the most as they can become the lapdog of a nation that they have far less cultural connection with than with the West.
