This is an example of great journalism. An outlet sought out an expert on the topic of the “interview.” They found someone with great knowledge of the topic, who was also able to vocalize that knowledge in a compelling and coherent manner. They allowed the greater public to propose questions, and the expert then answered a wide breadth of those in those in the interview. Ultimately, they created an engaging and informative product that likely appeals to a wider audience. No one had to yell loudest to get a point across. There wasn’t a bunch of flashy/distracting graphics. The expert wasn’t trying to pander to a particular segment of the audience. Etc. This is just great journalism.4 points -

Too bad for the Italian athletes though. Yet another country throwing away years and years of the easiest possible home advantage in the entire world of Olympic sports When getting the hosting rights for the Olympics, the very same day construction for the sliding track should get underway and within a year - and so plenty of years before the Olympics - the track should be entirely done....there are no 'easier' medals available in Olympic sports (which isn't to say it's literally easy, because obviously it isn't, but there is no sport where home advantage is easier to get).3 points

Canada (10 G/6 S/10 B) Day 1- women’s 3m synchro platform (Pamela Ware/Mia Vallee- diving), women’s 4x100m freestyle relay (swimming), women’s 400m freestyle (Summer McIntosh- swimming) Day 2- women’s 100m butterfly (Maggie MacNeil- swimming) Day 3- women’s 400m individual medley (Summer McIntosh- swimming), women’s 57kg (Christa Deguchi- judo) Day 6- men’s 100kg (Kyle Reyes- judo), women’s 200m butterfly (Summer McIntosh- swimming) Day 8- men’s decathlon (Pierce LePage/Damian Warner- athletics), women’s 200m individual medley (Summer McIntosh- swimming), women’s eights (rowing) Day 9- men’s hammer throw (Ethan Katzberg- athletics), women’s 4x100m medley relay (swimming) Day 10- women’s 3x3 basketball, men’s floor (Felix Dolci- artistic gymnastics) Day 11- women’s hammer throw (Camryn Rogers) Day 13- women’s C2-500m (Katie Vincent/Sloan MacKenzie), women’s 57kg (Skylar Park- taekwondo), men’s 200m (Andre DeGrasse- athletics) Day 14- women’s C1-200m (Katie Vincent), women’s beach volleyball (Melissa Humana-Parades/Brandie Wilkerson), men’s 4x100m relay (athletics) Day 15- men’s 800m (Marco Arop- athletics), women’s 75kg (Tammara Thibeault- boxing), men’s breaking (Phil Wizard) Day 16- women’s 62kg (Karla Godinez) From this you can see that apparently Canada’s 11th medal will be it’s first silver. Totally unlikely.3 points

I don't know about freestyle skiing specifically, but Kerttu and Iivo Niskanen both won gold on 29 December 2021, in Lenzerheide world cup, which was also part of Tour de Ski that season.2 points

Well that's all nice and well from the government to say, but they do realize that also means the track does actually need to be finished, right? Don't get me wrong, I definitely hope it will stay in Cortina because it'd suck to have one part of the Olympics in a different country (especially if then they'd choose Innsbruck over St Moritz), but having a finished track would be quite....important2 points

"Nemo profeta in Patria" people used to say in the ancient times... but sometimes that's not exactly true. Earlier Today, in fact, local hero Fares Elbakh triumphed in the men's -102kg class with a very solid performance, lifting 400kg in Total (176-224-400kg his final line) and defeating the reigning world champion, Liu Huanhua, who only lifted 398kg in Total (176-222-398kg his line), compared to the 404kg he lifted last September at the World Championships. The Bronze medal went to the 2023 European champion Garik Karapetyan, who lifted 180-211-391kg. In terms of OQR, Elbakh moves up to the 2nd place overall (from 6th), meanwhile the real winner of Today's event is Tudor Bratu, who was 4th with a Total of 390kg (175-215-390kg) and jumped from nowhere straight into the 9th useful position. The unlucky lifter of the day, instead, is Brian Wesley Kitts, who momentarily drops from 10th to 11th place in the OQR, the first man under the qualification line.1 point

2 kvote KANU/KAJAK Zasad dvi kvote. Marincic u slalomu i Anamarija Govorcinovic u sprintu. Ostaju europske kavlifikacije, i jedina mala sansa nam je foil. U zadnje vrijeme najbolje rezultate je imao Borna Spoljar u toj disciplini, a tu je i Petar Files. U ostalim disciplinama smo bez izgleda. bez kvote GIMNASTIKA Tin srbic je uzet kvotu. Ostali moraju pokusati 2024 preko Svjestkog kupa.

Paris 2024 - Early Predictions - Day by Day
canadafan2024 reacted to Josh for a topic
Full Paris 2024 Projected Medalists Summary Still unsure as to which weightclass Lukas Krjpalek (judo) will compete in at Paris. As for changes I’ve made, here’s a list: Rugby Sevens- Men’s Tournament Originally, it was Gold- New Zealand, Silver- Fiji, Bronze- Australia. Now, after the first two stops of the HSBC World Series, Gold- Australia, Silver- Argentina, Bronze- Fiji. Rugby Sevens- Women’s Tournament Originally, it was Gold- New Zealand, Silver- Australia, Bronze- United States. Now, after the first two stops of the HSBC World Series, Gold- Australia, Silver- France, Bronze- New Zealand. Rowing- Men’s Double Sculls/Pair Sinkovic brothers switched back to pairs for Paris, which has altered my medal predictions in both categories. For double sculls, originally it was Gold- Valentin Sinkovic/Martin Sinkovic, Silver- Melvin Twellaar/Stef Broenink, and Bronze- Aleix García/Rodrigo Conde. Now, it’s Gold- Melvin Twellaar/Stef Broenink, Silver- Aleix García/Rodrigo Conde, Bronze- Matteo Sartori/Luca Rambaldi. For pairs, originally it was Gold- Jaime Canalejo/Javier Garcia, Silver- Roman Röösli/Andrin Gulich, Bronze- Marius Cozmiuc/Sergiu Bejan. Now, it’s Gold- Valentin Sinkovic/Martin Sinkovic, Silver- Jaime Canalejo/Javier García, Bronze- Roman Röösli/Andrin Gulich Judo- Men’s +100kg Took out Lukas Krpalek as I still have no clue on which weightclass he’ll be competing in. Cuba’s Andy Granda now has bronze. Table Tennis- Men’s Singles Predicted Dario Jorgic to win bronze, now I’ve changed it to Lin Yun-Ju. Tennis- Women’s Doubles Krejcikova/Siniakova aren’t partnered up together anymore, so changed it to Siniakova/Vondrousova (IMO the third best Czech women’s doubles player) ignore: turboyev. BTW, later on I’ll also be doing a medal table/list of medalists by sport, and a list of medalists by country. This stuff takes a while to do (approximately spent around 30 hours doing these predictions) so if you could show some support it would be much appreciated. Another couple of changes in swimming, I now have Great Britain winning silver in men’s 4x100m freestyle relay (swimming), which bumps both Australia (now bronze) and Italy (out of a medal position) down. Probably gonna change women’s rugby sevens/women’s BMX freestyle/women’s C1/K1/men’s 100m and 200m butterfly predictions/men’s and women’s street/women’s freestyle wrestling too, only one bronze for New Zealand/no medal for China/same C1/K1 silver and bronze medalists/Milak on the podium/two repeat athletes on the podium for Japan/all Japan gold medalists all sound unlikely.1 point -
