First, every single one of our canoeing specialists had to change their discipline, European and World Champions had to forget about sprints and learn longer distances, jump into different boats, never having canoed in doubles or fours. Then, this whole modern-pentathlon shake up in which we have a long and successful history. It feels like this is a master plan to sabotage Lithuania, with many of our strategic sports under fire. I don't care about making Olympics more hip with the youth, I was young when I fell in love with the Olympics and I don't particularly feel that the event catered to me, because it didn't have to. Rollerskating, skateboarding, wall-climbing, golfing, breakdancing, 13yo gold medalists... it's just ughhh making this a joke for me. Don't blink, they'll find a way to ruin Athletics, Rowing and Swimming for me too.3 points

2022 Karate European Championships ( Gaziantep) May, 25th through May, 29th Day #1 was maybe one of the most surprising session of Karate I saw in the last few years... Nothing new happened in Kata, as expected, but, man! no one of the Kumite events went according to plan/expectation... For Italy, it was basically a disaster, with no gold medal match reached by our guys (even the great Luigi Busà, at his first competition after the Olympic title, couldn't do better than earning a miserable -for his standard- bronze medal match, losing to the most improbable, unknown Englishman Brian Wilkins in the semifinal match)... we all expected him and the eternal Rafael Aghayev to make us the gift of another chapter of their neverending rivalry (it would have been the highlight of the Championship, of course), but both of them couldn't reach the expected showdown... on the other hand, Slovakia @hckošice Croatia @dcro @prso1000 @ all Croatian friends and Hungary @Vektor @ all Hungarian friends seem to have earned the status of powehouses in this sport together with usual suspect and host Nation, Turkey (it's just for this tournament, don't start dreaming too much, guys! ), reaching 2 gold medal matches each in Kumite events... here's a quick recap of the already determined Gold Medal matches (Saturday, May 28th @ 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. CET): Women's Individual Kata: Sandra Sanchez Jaime vs Dilara Bozan Men's Individual Kata: Alì Sofuoglu vs Damian Hugo Quintero Capdevila Women's Individual Kumite, -61kg: Ingrida Suchankova vs Anna Miggou Women's Individual Kumite, -68kg: Miroslava Kopunova vs Eda Eltemur Women's Individual Kumite, +68kg: Ivana Perovic vs Aicha Zakia Boussebaa Men's Individual Kumite, -75kg: Erman Eltemur vs Brandon Brian Wilkins Men's Individual Kumite, -84kg: Enes Garibovic vs Daniel Gyorgy Men's Individual Kumite, +84kg: Andjelo Kvesic vs Luca Costa1 point

Obstacle course? My lord this is some bad shit. Guess the urban events are being sold as the new future. What a load of croc. Just kill this sport already. I have a feeling it will die within the next five years anyway. Rope swing? American Gladiators had more innovation 30 years ago than this shit.1 point -

Ah yes, the youthful and hip sport of golf. I think the IOC needs to concede to either cut sports/events or increase the total number of athletes to around 12,000. That's how many athletes we needed once they made the (correct) decision to expand women's sports.1 point -

Yesterday match against Denmark was the most watched TV program in Slovakia since the Olympics. more than 683 000 viewers watched the game on TV, the Slovak national broadcaster RTVS informed, which was more than 61,5% of the people having TV. + Also 433 362 viewers clicked at least once on the stream of the match on the RTVS special WCh website Just to say it was a Tuesday afternoon. yeah, Slovaks don´t work during hockey worlds1 point

Schools would be a lot safer if every student aged 10 and above has at least a pistol next to their chairs and gets monthly shooting drills teaching how to aim and such. From 15 years old, of course the pistols will be replaced by or supplemented with full-size hunting rifles. Obviously the teacher gets an assault rifle and, needless to say, everyone will be wearing bulletproof vests and helmets (obviously) at any moment inside the school buildings. /s1 point

Canoeing and sailing at least have the ability to be shrunk (and in canoeing's case able to drop slalom). Modern pentathlon can't shrink without disappearing.1 point -
New day, new shooting the US. 14 kids killed in an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. The debate will rise up for a bit again, there'll be protests, there'll be people saying "enough is enough" and "now we really need to do something" and by the time the weekend comes around, it's only a 60-second segment at the end of the news.1 point
