God, the WKF is so cruel. They brought the athletes back to the tatami to announce the result of the protest.

 

I feel horrible for :NED Lardy. The way this went down is just terrible.

 

I can’t celebrate this at all.

sad to be said, but this farce is the perfect end of a crazy, completely wrong and messed up qualification procedure...   WKF did everything to justify their exclusion just after the Tokyo O

I just rewatched the live stream. that's unbelievable. I didn't know you can protest these kind of decisions. and specially when the match is over !

 

that was new. feel sorry for the Dutch guy. that surely feels terrible for him.

a few people were selling me hope that we can qualify here or something a few weeks ago. well, too good for me that I didn't believe it.

Wow I feel bad for the Dutch athlete. Sadly this sport has INSANE level of universality but these kinds of rulings will make it hard to get onto the program in the future. Also Karate is the only sport :CAN will only have men competing.

Canada was winning 3-3 (on Senshu) but received a penalty in last 3 seconds for stepping out. which annuls the Senshu. a draw was enough for the Netherlands to qualify. the match ended 3-3 draw and Netherlands qualified. (alongside KSA and Georgia)

 

they awarded the women's medals but then right before the award ceremony they called both of those guys to the Tatami telling them to fight those last 3 seconds again because Canada apparently made a protest and they found out the Canadian Karateka wasn't out of bound. Canada ended up winning 3-3 on Senshu.

i think i saw this scene before with our player in Mediterranean Games in 2013 , he was playing in men's -60 if i do remember and the match ended and they kept on returning him to the mat until the Italian guy won but it was during the match not after medal ceremony that's too cruel tbh , anyway Canadians are clever whenever i see matches for egyptian players in final stages i see them kicking and giving some punches nout counted without any VAR review from our coaches especially this idiot running women's team , Giana knew that well after African games 2019 and refused to continue with him she brought a private coach with her

      Wouldn't be surprised to see the same this time. The men's 500m has basically on or with luck two medal chances, but certainly not three (semi-realistic) ones. With Beau Snellink for now not exactly on his way to an Olympic ticket and Patrick Roest still questionable, that might only leave Chris Huizinga, Jorrit Bergsma and Marcel Bosker, and that is not exactly a group one would want to have in the team pursuit.

      Looks like it. Not too surprising at all, it fits anticipated behaviour of contemporary forums about politics. To be more clear - suffering isnt something that bothers people on universal level. 50000 slain Christians in 14 years - not interested. But other atrocities around the world - bring it on baby.
