According to this article. Japan has refused one host country quota and :CUB Manrique Larduet as well. Which means that :NOR Sofus Heggemsnes and :CZE David Jessen got the re-allocation quota.

Can anybody confirm that?

Larduet confirmed on his Instagram account that he's not training and he will not go to Tokyo.

Heggemsnes had already been allocated to the host nation quota because Japan qualified a full team and was not eligible for a host quota anyway.

Also, the article confirms Zonderland, but Miyachi can still outscore him. It's been said, however, that Japan will not send Miyachi to the next WC stage if it indeed takes place, but I highly doubt it.

With all due respect to the gymnast, she should not qualify.

Of course the rules are written in an absurd way but it should be clear for anyone familiar with the qualification system that she has not qualified. The logic that is being applied for :SRI and :IND to qualify does not apply to any other event according to the qualification documents. In my opinion, this is absurd. The fact that so many websites are reporting this, including the IOC, is very worrisome. I will be very disappointed if FIG somehow decides to "bend" the rules in this specific case and deny :KOR and :MAS of a quota.

This probably add more confusion, :INA has released a statement that Rifda Irfanaluthfi has qualified for AA due to Asian Championships being cancelled too

The :IND  :SRI:INA  2020 Olympic Wikipedia pages have been changed including the female gymnast in the respective country's contingent. Perhaps all Asian NOCs will stake a claim :d

There's only one "logical" explanation for that: they're expecting :SRI to receive the tripartite invitation, and :INA is the next one in line. Not impossible, but given that :CAY is also eligible for the invitation, apparently, it's quite premature to expect :SRI to be invited -- and even a little bit absurd after she qualified on her own merits. But this system is nothing but absurd, so I won't be surprised if :INA qualifies.

Will Petrounidas receive a quota in rings?

Have to wait the result of Doha Stage in June. If he wins the championship and scores more than 15.333 then he will receive the quota directly. Otherwise he has to wait wild card or some other specialized qualification procedure.

    • North American rugby quotas ( and qualified automatically)    M: and W: and
    • I remember Caroline Golubitsky. She competed with Vezzali for a while but not for long. Rita Konig, whom Vezzali defeated in the final of the Olympic Games in 2000, was more famous, as well as Sabine Bau and Anja Mueller. From what I remember, the Germans competed fiercely with us at some point, but they almost always lost.
    • Shemyakina won a bronze medal in 2014 Worlds and was one of our leader but leave the squad due to pregnancy (she has 2 daughters if I'm not mistaking, so she chose family instead of sport). And speaking of foil we have back in the day Sergiy Golubitskyi, who was Olympic silver medalist and won some medals in other competitions and coached his wife Caroline Golubitskyi - one of the German foil specialists. Even in women's foil we had medal in Women's foil at the European championship - it was Olha Leleiko, our current national coach. So no, we are pretty good fencing country, and depending on generations of our athletes some events are more "profitable" for us and some don't.
    • Shemyakina that was a very strange story. She unexpectedly won the games but before and after she literally achieved nothing. After that success in 2012 she also completely disappeared. It's only in epee that such strange situations. That's why I've always preferred foil and sabre, because the top was more stable there, although that's changing now. The competition has grown a lot all over the world.
