I really wonder whether the Danish teams will in fact participate in the 4x200m races tomorrow. We have 6 women and 6 men in Silesia. Would mean two women having 2 races within 15 minutes.

Our federation is really shameful. Our women's 4x400 team should be in Tokyo. Even the 4x100 team could've snuck in. We haven't had relays since 2019 and our girls are doing so much better now individually. Maria Belibasaki (2018 400m European silver medalist) didn't even compete on our relay team in 2019. We are clearly better than our times from 2019 but our federation decided to not send anyone to Poland. Morons.

According to WA they have to participate in the 4x1 relays to secure their spots for Tokyo and Eugene:

To complete their Olympic qualification, all teams must compete with bona fide effort in tomorrow’s finals. If a team does not start in the final due to a medical reason, they must present a medical certificate from the World Athletics medical delegate in order to guarantee their qualification for the Olympic Games.‘

Maybe two run the 4x2 directly after the 4x1 or they won‘t take part in the 4x2.

I have no doubt they will participate in the 4x100. Every single race is great training. It does sound like they'll be in both, but I doubt we'll be able to do so well in the 4x200, especially the women's

It's a bit unfair from the North American athletes to skip all these competitions and giving me false hope that Femke Bol is the best 400m runner in the world already!

    • no idea. I just repeated what I read  but I won't be surprised if they make a mistake like this. the officials here are usually terrible in reading the rules. if I remember correctly they sent an Ice hockey team to the Games back in 2017 but most of the players were ineligible to play per IIHF rules and they played some friendlies instead    btw there is a federation, but not an ISU member. Ice Skating (which has a very very limited activity here) was a part of Skating (roller sports) federation but now moved to Skiing federation which officially changed its name to Skiing and Winter Sports Federation.

    • There is a saying to never trust a Russian in gymnastics. Well, ex-Russian turned Bulgarian Elvira Krasnobaeva is transferring now to Armenia.   The "official" reason is for personal, family matters, but in reality it's most likely because she wasn't selected for Paris, which angered her parents. Even though she is only 16, had her breakthrough just this year and started making mistakes, when they amped up the difficulty.   Our Federation's President Iliana Raeva said today, that she received calls also from France and Azerbaijan about Elvira's mother basically auctioning her. Raeva mentioned, that Krasnobaeva was going to be a vocal point in the next Olympic cycle, but now she can hit the road and missed her chance to ever compete for Bulgaria, even if she wanted to in the future.    We are also going to make a new Group from next season. After the disappointment in Paris, 4 out of the 5 girls announced their retirement.
    • true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though
