Olympic baseball gets a huge talent-pool boost

Players on 40-man rosters not in the major leagues will be eligible for the Olympics.  That's a big boost for the sport since originally anyone on a 40-man roster would not be allowed to participate in Tokyo.

YESSSS!!! Would have loved if MLB players could play, but we don’t live in a perfect world. We can see some very talented prospects at the games along with pros from the Korean & Japanese leagues. It is huge for the development of young players.

Tim Tebow will play the qualifiers for the Phillipines.

He's a former NFL quarterback, where he scored 17 touchdown passes and 12 touchdown rushes, but also 9 interceptions and 6 fumbles lost.

Since 2016 he plays baseball. In 2018 he batted .273 at the AA Eastern League, but in 2019 he batted .163 at the AAA International League.

Philippines??? Really??

yes, he was born there while his parents were serving as missionaries...

the whole family moved back to the USA only when he was 3 years young...

therefore, because he was born in the Philippines, he could easily get the local citizenship and play for them in the international sport events...

He's playing in the qualifiers for the World Baseball Classic, not the Olympics.  The Philippines are not a part of Olympic baseball qualifiying

That's not good.  But makes sense, especially considering 1 of the participating teams is China.

Still depending on whether or not The teams decide to give the players the option or keep them on the roaster, hoping that in LA 2028 it will be possible that all MLB players Could and would be in

it will still be hard because of the majors going on in the same time, they need to stop it, i wish , but i'm skeptical
