Wanderer 1,726 Posted April 21, 2018 #1294 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Swaziland Couldn't find a 2017 song from Velemseni, but this one ain't bad, a song featuring Swazi music legends - Velemseni, Bholoja and the recent discovery Tendaness. I hope you enjoy it! Velemseni is a female guitarist and vocalist from Swaziland. Her roots are firmly planted in the Kingdom of Swaziland. Her music reflects an aesthetic of jazz, rock and neo soul elements. She realized she had a talent while on stage and decided to join the school choir. Her church background had a major influence on her sound. Bholoja (real name Mbongiseni Ngubane) is one of the gifted musicians to emerge out of Swaziland. His songs have increased his following across national borders. He draws his inspiration from the Swazi tradition. His songs seek to preserve the country’s cultural heritage and historical neglect. His music is a response to the global changing situation and African growth challenges. He thus considers himself as a mouthpiece of the poor, orphaned, AIDS victims and the underprivileged. His music is a fusion of Southern African traditions such as mbira, sitolotolo and the traditional drumming styles. Blending of different sounds has made his music to be appreciated by a number of communities. He sings Afro-pop, traditional African and Swazi soul. His music focuses on the social and economic aspects that govern people lives on a daily basis. Tatenda Mandaza, known professionally as Tendaness, is a Swazi-born record producer, DJ and songwriter. Popular Post vinipereira 3,240 Posted April 22, 2018 Author Popular Post #1297 Share Posted April 22, 2018 At the 1-week mark to the Grand Final of the Totallympics Annual International Song Contest 2018, the organizing committee is proud to announce this year official motto. From Algeria to Italy, and Kazakhstan to Venezuela, more than 50 nations have participated at least one time throughout the 10 editions of the contests, with countries representing Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and the Americas. After having as hosts nations such as Great Britain, Ireland, Lithuania, Mexico and Tunisia, TISC arrives for the first time in South America, as the celebrations will take place in Brazil next weekend. Twice a year, users from around the world reunite on Totallympics in a big celebration of the universal language of music. In the words of the late singer John Denver, "music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves: We are the same." That was one of the inspirations for the Brazil 2018 contest official motto "Music connects the world" (Música conecta o mundo, in portuguese), but mostly this is about all the forum members that make this such a special event.
