Koreans had around million runs on this track, and they have custom designed sleds just for this track. Enough said.

Kim gets 6th place in his first championships, right...

To be fair, Kim got 7th in Innsbruck as well, he's been showing potential. And at least with Yun we've got a winner who's the number one in the world anyway.

It's not only because they're playing home , other wise they would have at least a top 5 finish in luge , they won't go also something special in Bobsleigh , p.s having this enormous margin on gold medal can't be from playing home only , so it's fair enough to give them credit here

That depends on what you mean with special. They have one of the best two-man drivers in the world, home track, million runs and so on. Top-5 would not be something special, outside top-10 would be :p

It’s not like Yun is a nobody, he was ranked first in the world cup this season...

No, it's from home. His winning margins are MUCH smaller usually, and it's not like he wins everything. He didn't even win the test event last year, at that point he had as many runs as anyone else on this track...

Also, @dcro, which sport do you think has the biggest home track advantage, luge, skeleton or bobsled? So far I found the Korean results in luge definitely more surprising (and it's not like the three home skeleton champions were/are nobodies), so I'd go for luge giving the bigger advantage :p

Then you are ignoring the facts... :p Their doubles haven't been bad at different track in the recent times, and apart from them it's just the German that achieved the unusual result...

Most importantly, everyone here has to acknowledge a fact that Yun wouldn't have won a gold medal if these Olympics have been held anywhere else. He is not really an athlete who already had a good career and the home Olympics came as a bonus. No, he was created for the home Olympics. Fact.

Again what I'm saying is that it's not only because he's playing home , if he doesn't have talent he wouldn't have won gold here ofc and if he can't make this margin outside home , he could have won with little margin outside as well :)

Of course, but I meant at this moment he is the best anyway and would likely have won on most tracks. Wouldn't have been the 80-90 percent chance it was now, but still.

They can't beat Germans ofc unless the last do some technical errors which can always happen at these sports and I didn't know honestly that they also have a world class double in bobsleigh , so this means they have done some incredible work last 8 years
