195 point something for Ponya in Lebanon. She will be going to the Olympics (unless Hungary raised their standards considerably following the Swaney fiasco).

I like how Totallympics is probably the only place where people print-screen Instagram stories of small-time athletes. :p

Looks like FIS read this and deported him out of Lebanon.

Seriously though, why travel all the way to Lebanon and then leave before the race program is over?

Meanwhile, this weekend is the deciding one everywhere, so also for Brazil. The current situation:

HlXgsDX.png

Unless there is some insane miracle, Mika is out. And Jaque is of course in, as she definitely should be. After the Serbian situation, which wasn't as much the federation's fault as we originally thought (so that situation can be rectified), Bruna, Duda and Mika will compete in the Swiss championships in Zweisimmen this weekend, freestyle sprint tomorrow, 5k classic Sunday.

The main thing to look at is the fight for the second ticket, Bruna against Duda, with Bruna being 141 points ahead at the moment. With an equal sprint result tomorrow, Duda will make up a maximum of 60 points (since she has a 481 and Bruna a 421 that can be pushed out). If that's the case, Bruna is 81 points ahead after tomorrow's race, which already means Duda would need a 181 classic result even if Bruna doesn't start/finish/score on Sunday. Of course with every point Bruna gets under 281 on Sunday, Duda would need to get under 181 in the classic.

Again, that is all in case they come up with equal points tomorrow. It could be 99% decided in tomorrow's race, but who knows. Start at 10:04 and 10:06, live timing here:

https://www.protiming.ch/rr-live-658.aspx

Nerves....this is it.

So, Bruna beat Duda by 3 seconds or so today. She got 279 points, Duda got 307, which brings us to this situation, with only tomorrow's 5k classic to go:

Mika is now officially out, she has no theoretical race anymore in which to get her sprint average under 300 and even if she did, she'd be 4th in points anyway. Duda needs to get under 153 points tomorrow to even have a chance. If she scores 153.00 or more, she will end up with more (and so, worse) points than Bruna's current total. That is, of course, if Bruna doesn't improve her 281.10 points. If she does that, Duda will need to get under 153 minus Bruna's improvement.

In short, it's looking more than excellent for Bruna.

D-Day, the final day in Olympic qualifying. Live timing for the Swiss championships, where the Brazilians are racing, can be found here:

https://www.protiming.ch/rr-live-634.aspx

5k for all the women's categories (which should probably mean that the senior, U20 and U18 results will be put together in one results list in terms of FIS points), 10k for junior men and 15k for senior men, classic.
