Pierre Lueders, who was the pilot of the Canadian sled that tied Italy 20 years ago, witnessed this moment today as coach of the Korean team

I think it's much better to share the gold , than to win the silver

But for fans I think it's better to see shared bronze than shared gold (apart from those who specifically like these athletes or just blindly cheer for anyone with the same flag), now we have to wait four years to really have 'the Olympic champion'. Actually, with Zubkov losing the 2014 gold and that one being vacant for now, we'll have a period of eight years without having someone who is the Olympic champion :d

Yes , my words specifically for Canadian members here who're upset to share the gold , not sure about Germans but I think they should be the happier side now as this gold was very crucial for them to keep fighting for 1st place , so overall it should be a happy end for many fans around the world , especially of those who don't care much about bobsleigh and like to see those moments happen in Olympics

    • Regarding the swimming they have added the 800m for men and the 1500m for women so cutting numbers would be odd.
    • That quota I’ve been told by an athlete aiming to qualify who I know online.
    • Has the quota for Canada been offically confirmed anyway, or is that just a rumour? I can't find anything on google about it (nor the suggested quota for England's athletes someone posted earlier).   12 per gender would make sense (it's roughly what Canada sent to Birmingham). 12 overall seems dumb.
    • Some sports have qualification systems   3x3 basketball (wheelchair) Para-cycling Powerlifting Weightlifting
    • In the past few games, Canada (and other nations) was given an overall athlete quota which they then divided it through the various sports.
    • Whose decision was this, Team Canada's or the Organising committes?
