No, but is certainly fitting for a typical Totallympics bashing masked under a pretense of "discussion".   Baseball/softball is like the only non-European-centric team sport at the Olympics.

Well I really hope this isn't the last time we see softball in the Olympics, because IMO this tournament was a ton of fun.

This is so off brand for Canada given how bad we've historically been at team sports xD

 

Canada has definitively been the third best softball team in the world over the past few years. This is a very deserved result.

GG Mexico.  Really put up a great fight when it didn't even look like they would make this game.  Only team to score more than one run against the Canadians in 7 innings.

As expected, the Gold Medal game is really tight.  Japan manufacture a run in the 4th, so it's up to America to find a response.  Batting has been a problem all week though.

 

Japan double their lead in the 5th.
