Do you still have the possibility to choose individual politicians withon the party? Our ballots are full of names instead of parties

yes, but only in the local elections...

there we can choose our favourite party as a group but also a name from a different party if we particularly like the person but not his group in general...

normally, all combinations are possible...

No, they changed the election law plus and plus time, but in the '90s they removed the possibility of write a "preferences" for a candidate. We can vote for our own individual candidate only at local elections

so, yes...we can (in some cases, aka local elections) :p

but I agree, the national political elections are only about the parties (they put the people they want in their list, which is still public, everybody knows who's gonna get the place if a party gets the majority of votes in a local section)...

About a 4th counted so far and it certainly feels like a win for the Social Democrats and their supporters.

All major parties seem to make it though the Liberals still can't feel too sure.

Now the right side took over the lead, nothing is over

Swedish preliminary parliament results (after 92% counted):

team ”left”:

left party (former communists): 6,4
social democrats: 30,5

green party: 5,0

Center party: 6,7

”team right”

liberals 4,6

christian democrates 5,4

moderates 19,1

sweden democrates (far right populists) 20,6

0.9 in advantage Ulf Kristersson as new Pm for the ”right side” who is only representant the second party  on that side but Sweden democrates Will not get the support from other parties.

it Will be difficult for either government to cooperate anyways, just look at the GAL TAN table over the parties on each team:

Before this year people had always taken the ballot from a public table before they go behind the curtain and vore in secret. Of course peppar who dont want to show others have taken ballots from several parties and then just left the not-used ballots aside.

Wow. It's not just one ballot with all the options on it, so nobody knows which option you filled in? :yikes:

Edit: read Agger's explanation later as well. Just...wow.

Here as well, once you enter the polling station and you show your ID, the electoral commission MUST hand you all the ballots of all the candidate parties (it does not matter how many there are, ten or thirty) each party has its own ballot with its own candidates written on them...

behind the sheet you choose one party you want and on it you can circle up to 5 names you wish to prioritize, then just put the ballot in an prepared envelope.

However, remember to Throw away all other unused ballots in the second urn next to the sheet. You must not forget to throw them away, anyway. You will not be allowed to go out with them, the committee will not let you to leave the room with the other ballots, it is classified as a crime anyway.

Here it's one big-ass paper you fold out, then you colour the circle in front of one name. Usually that'll be simply the #1 of the party you want to vote for, but you can choose someone else if you so wish. Main thing is everyone gets the same paper, and you put it in the box when you voted (folded, of course), so really nobody can know what you voted as long as you fold your paper and nobody sees it before you put it in the box (which is like 5 steps away :p).
