as to Syria....muslims killed much more Syrians than all armies together

no wonder civilians suffer now from time to time, very sad....to be true...it`d worse if it stayed as it was, now at least there`s some hope

maybe our Algerian friend will also mourn many Yazid people? No he will say that American bombs killed 30 civilians, great

I don't think ISIS gives specific instructions to anyone outside Iraq-Syria area. All the ISIS terrorist attacks outside the area are carried out by a small group of radicals who are using ISIS brand. An Indian-American commentator has written a couple of nice posts about the difference between ISIS - the organization in Iraq-Syria area and ISIS - the brand. First Post Second Post

Al-Qaeda released an article in 2010 about it.

I don't think any religion is a religion of peace :p

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

It was sarcasm, and Buddhist terrorism is alive in Sri Lanka and Myanmar among other places I am sure.

Religion unfortunately brings out the worst in ppl...

Well, the truth is every religiom has it's terrorism. The closest to Buddhism related was probablh  Aum Shinrikyo, The Christians have Lord's Resistance Army, National Tripura Liberation Front or even KKK, not counting single person terrorists.

What I noticed however that in most of the cases Nationalism seems to play a very huge role in radicalization, and I believe it's pretty much the same with ISIS or Al-qaida, as the huge wave of Islam based terrorism has pretty much started after US/western coallition invaded the Middle East.

Even the fact that Germany lately caught a terror suspect which turned out to be a neonazi in the past seems to support that. So I would instead of pointing at  a single relligion, even if it seems to currently create the most terrorist, rather focus on the issue of far-right ideologies possibly playing a huge role in radicalization, as even in Europe we had already examples in the past showing that it's a very dangerous ideology(Hitler, Mussolini) and even now, like Breivik or the guy responsible for the Trollhattan school attack turning out to be far-right supportes.

Plus it's pretty obvious to me that Radical Muslim/Christian/Hindu terrorism is just the new wave of nazizm - because that's the only way one wishing death to other people just because of the way they live can be named ;)

    • It's good that Argentina is starting to get back on track economically. Every year, all of our alpine skiing teams train in August in Argentina in Ushuaia: "Fine del Mundo", as it advertises itself.
    • The relation of Trump with Russia and, more specific, with Putin is probably the most controversial (being generous) thing of the presidence of Trump, i dont believe the same but is clearly that China help democrats in that election, both are playing their games.   In Argentina the society is clearly divided, the people who are in the left side of the politics, peronist and kirchnerism are very against the goverment, propably the only genuine "rigth-wing" goverment since the recovery of the democracy in 1983. For me and the most part who are in the rigth wing: libertarians, nacionalist and conservatives, is probably the best goverment we see to this days, he made in his first year with a very few legislators in the congress some big and good changes:   1) In the economical: the inflation is only 3% per month since a more of 15% in the last months of the last year, Argentina has now fiscal, financial and comercial surplus-   2) Our country didnt have fighter planes and the goverment buy 24  American F16  -   3) He chances the electoral sistem for a "single ballot" sistem, we have an obsolete electoral sistem that doesnt change from the 19 century and specially, the peronist use for make fraud.   4) In my personal case, he really update the tax sistem for smal/medium profesionals and traders.......and that save us to pay the 50% of our earnings to the state.   With a big expectations in the goverment, its better than i thinked before.
    • It could be better, or it could be much worse, for example, if the accusations that he has been accepting large amounts of money from Russia since 2017 are confirmed. Now let Harris win, which will end Trump's political career and I hope that in 4 years the Republicans will put up someone more predictable.     btw, how is this controversial president of Argentina doing?
    • More predictable is not always better, for me the goverment of Biden was one of the worst of the History of USA and i cant imagine what can happen with even a worse version like Harris is.   I hope, for the contrary, Trump be elected and "may be" the things changes for the better in the world.
    • I once read that Harris had never been to Europe before 2020, when she became vice president. On the other hand, her foreign policy will be more predictable, because it will be a continuation of Biden's policies. That is why I hope Harris wins, although the bookmakers are betting on Trump.
    • Harris is totally green on foreign policy. It will probably be a policy 100% led by Biden's people. Harris' main campaign emphasis is on abortion and women's rights.
    • So much for "everybody's laughing at us if we elect Harris"
    • My favorite tennis tournaments of the year (wta/atp finals)
    • was also invited to the special edition of the Bolivarian Games and seems like  is not participating.
