If I got it right, Kaczynski claims that Tusk is Merkel's candidate whose main goal is to destroy Poland. Right? :d

I've just reached a personal milestone, as I saturday was selected as a candidate for the social liberal party to the municipal council in Aarhus (2nd largest city in Denmark).

Hope that doesn't make the people hating politicians hate me :p

Good luck for the elections :fingers:

SV is the danish party that i support in Denmark,I hope that they'll back at the goverermanent.

Btw, today it's an amazing moment the european left-wing party, Macron in France in the polls has recovered points on Le Pen and in Bulgaria Borisov resigned after he failed to form a government. Just days before the Dutch elections we can say that a different Europe is possible :fingers:

SV? Do you mean SF (Socialistic Peoples party)?
If so, I doubt they will be back in government soon.
Their time in government was tough with them not really getting what they wanted and their members weren't too happy about most of the compromises.
Though they have a slightly stronger leader than back then, I don't think they'll want to be in government in the nearest future.

Edit: Or do you mean RV? :p

Not quite. :d Borisov resigned in november after his candidate didn't win the presidency. Now we have an interim parlament until the new elections are carried out in the end of march. He has made mistakes, but nothing compared to the other option for power the socialist party (aka the historial communist party) in coalition with the etnic turskish party, which would be a nightmare scenario if they return. Those two have led to the biggest crimes and backword tragectory in the country since the fall of socialism.

It's amazing how stupid and ignorant are people here, when it comes to the socialist party. 4 years ago, when they were last in power, they chose a notable crime lord to head the police department () and of course there were massive protests until they changed him. Also one of the biggest banks bankrupted after huge frauds were done and money disappeared and the country had to pay billions to the ordinary people. And this after only a 1 year  governing at which the people booted them out. In that time the socialist party were at an all time low rating of 12% and fast-forward 4 years all that is forgotten and it's once again going to 27-30% :wall: People get what they give :coffee:

These are the latest polls (two days ago) for the Dutch elections:

468b2650c5.png

TK2012 = Number of seats for the named party at the 2012 elections

12-2 / 5-3 / 7-3 =  Number of seats in the polls of that day

'Versch' = Difference with the previous poll / difference with the 12-2 poll / difference with the 2012 elections

Two of the historically big parties are losing with especially the centre-left PvdA (Partij van de Arbeid/Labour Party) losing a shitload of seats. Since the second World War they have had less than 30 seats only three times and they have never had less than 20 seats, but are now down to a projected 9.

Whereas PvdA is centre-left, VVD (the party of our current prime-minister and together with PvdA the big winners of last time) is somewhat centre-right and they're losing a whole lot too. They are climbing back up though in recent weeks and are now, for the first time since 2015, the largest party in the polls.

PVV is Geert Wilders' right-wing party, which I'm sure doesn't need a lot of introduction. Thanks to a whole lot of stuff like terrorist attacks and the immigration debate they've had a perfect opportunity to grow a lot, more than doubling their 2012 seats, but they are losing in recent weeks.

CDA is set to be rather big again, after some meager years. This is the centre/centre-right Christian party that had our previous prime-minister. The biggest growth so far seems to be surprisingly for GroenLinks ('GreenLeft', translated literally). Officially they are centre-left and all about 'green' stuff and environmental issues and their young, charismatic leader has so far brought them way above their record of 11 seats. They somewhat talk with the wind though (I guess that's part of being an environmental party) and don't seem to be incredibly strong about their principles.

D66 is probably our most 'centre' party, with slightly left tendences in social aspects and slightly right tendencies in economical aspects and also pro-European. They've never been a huge player (although they had a huge spike of 24 seats in 1994) but are usually around, filling up the gaps in a coalition and otherwise just enjoying their role in the opposition.

SP is the most left party we have, ChristenUnie is somewhat centre (slightly more right) and as the name suggest, Christian-based, Partij voor de Dieren is the 'Party for the Animals' and almost puts animal rights above human rights, 50PLUS is the party that only thinks about older people and their leader is a way too emotional guy for rational politics.

SGP is sort of the more extreme version of ChristenUnie: the oldest political party in the Netherlands, very strictly Christian and insanely stable in the elections, always getting 2-3 votes because their 'fan base' always stays the same. People who are of their religious belief vote for them whatever they say so they don't lose those voters, and people who aren't of their belief won't vote for them so they don't win voters. Interestingly they're also not very active in the campaigns because they know they'll get their 2-3 seats. Good thing about them: they don't care what others want from them, they always stick to their principles which I think is admirable even if you don't agree with them at all. Side note: they're usually the biggest party in my little Bible Belt hometown, hurray.

DENK is a party founded last year (or the year before) by two Turkish-Dutch politicians who went out from their Dutch party and now have some sort of a "Erdogan is a hero"-kind of freak club there. Loved by a small part, hated by most.

As for myself, there's a few parties I'm definitely not voting for:

- PVV (because Wilders)

- DENK (because Erdogan)

- SGP (because religion should be separate from the state)

- SP (way, way too left)

- GroenLinks (don't like their leader)

- 50PLUS (don't like their leader)

I'm mostly doubting between VVD and D66, staying somewhere in the centre :)

    • I think that It's a similar situation with Braahten in Norway but there are some differences:     - he's an adult, - his mother is Brazilian, - Norway has a lot of talent in technical events (although of course it's always better to have 1 more than 1 less).

    • Well, we lived through Caroline Wozniacki representing Denmark and there was some talk if she could switch to Poland early on but she said no since she lived her entire life in Denmark anyway. But she was very popular here. On the other side Angelique Kerber who also has Polish ancestry actually lived in Poland on her grandfather's estate (which was a tennis academy). In the last few years except Eugenia Bujak (cycling) switching to Slovenia due to a conflict with the federation we don't really have such cases. I can understand many Italians have their opinion on Colturi & her mother alas it's boosted by the lack of other top end prospects in your skiing now (and some other winter sports). I'm surprised Italian journalists haven't figured out what's behind Colturi's switch already because it has to be money or "personal differences" either way.
    • Or is Girardelli respected in Austria these days...
    • We must ask our Austrian users if they cheered for Girardelii. But do we have any Austrian users LOL?
    • It's just that Austria had a lot of skiers in that time and we don't have any others among the young ones now.
    • Marco Girardelli went to Luxembourg one day and he had a great career. I doubt he did regret that move.

    • You know, but we still don't know what that was about. Ceccarelli has a difficult character but still changing colors to a country with which you have absolute no connetions? What would you say if Iga Swiatek fell out with the Polish tennis federation and started playing for Luxembourg or Andorra? Certainly not everyone would decide to take such a step, even if they had to give in a little in talks with the federation.    Another thing is that the Italian training system simply doesn`t work. As you can see, there are talents but we don`t know how to train them. Since the golden generation born in 1990-1995 (Brignone, Bassino, Goggia) we haven`t trained anyone who would stand on the podium in giant slalom or slalom in World Cup. So something is wrong. At the beginning of the 21st century we had a large group of good athletes in giant slalom (maybe not at Brignone's level): Karbon, Moelgg, Putzer, Gius, etc., who were able to win World Cups, win World Championship medals, etc. Now we have no one. In women's giant slalom for example: if Brignone and Bassino are gone, even getting to the first 20 in World Cup will be a problem for us.
    • I remember that Lara Gut's family also had a conflict with the Swiss federation at the beginning of her career around 2008/2009 but it was resolved. I remember that the family also wanted to have a greater influence on their daughter's career. It was probably similar here. If there was a will from both sides, an agreement should have been reached. Especially since Colturi has zero ties with Albania. Sinner could have played for Austria sooner, as a person from South Tyrol.
