the Iranian is standing on the podium right now very normally thx god

and he didn't look like the Olympic Champion. he was more like someone who lost the Olympic final :d

I'm sure nobody wants to win the gold in this way but after few days people will forget the details. only the final result remains forever.

you clearly didn't watch the final :d:p

it wasn't like a normal 4-0 win.

What is wrong ? It is in the official result, did something happened to the Saudi ? Injury or something ?

He was KOed, and thus awarded the victory.

The Saudi guy was leading but then he kicked to the neck (or throat ) of our Karateka . in this sport you can't kick or punch with maximum power, there must be some control on it and in that action Tareq Hamdi completely knocked out Ganjzadeh and made him unconsciousness for few minutes.

he got disqualified for that, that word "Hansoku" you can see in the results section means disqualification

Also, gotta say, talk about a way for Hamedi to completely throw away what would have been :KSA's first ever Olympic gold, especially given this was likely to literally be a once in a lifetime chance for him.

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
