Doping Cases and Bans 2018 Thread

Recommended Posts

Okay, now this one is DISGUSTING!!! Raimondas Rumšas was caught for doping back in 2003. In 2017 his youngest son dies from a heart attack, it is speculated that it might have been caused by some sort of doping. Queue to now, Raimondas Rumšas Junior is caught using doping and disqualified for four years. There was so much sentimental shit, how he was dedicating all his victories to his younger brother and all that. It is shameful that such a story comes from Lithuania...

Wow, just wow, Hummnaity keeps on giving.

Romela was extremelly suspicious even before, i cant even say that i am surprised. If i am not mistaken, every Albanian weightlifter in the past decade was, at least once, caught doping.

Alizé Cornet is ban for doping ? :mumble:

Not yet, but she is in trouble for missing three tests. How can one miss three tests, at home? Come on.

Association of Winter Sports Federations demanded from the IOC to explain the non-admission of Russians

Heads of international federations of winter Sports , members of the Association of Winter Olympic Sports, signed a letter to the International Olympic Committee with a request to provide an explanation about the refusal to issue invitations to the Olympics in Pyeongchang to Russian athletes. This was announced by the president of the International Biathlon Union Anders Besseberg.

"I think it would be wrong to remove the athlete from the Games only on the basis of his participation in the Sochi Olympics. Therefore, I would like to seriously discuss this issue. We asked the IOC for information about the reasons for non-disclosure of Russians, because this list includes the leading sportsmen of many sports. We are responsible for protecting clean athletes, so proof is necessary for punishment.

As for Shipulin, then, if he was ousted without clear evidence of guilt, it is very sad. IBU has tested this sportsman many times, and we do not have any positive doping tests, "NRK quotes Besseberg as saying.

The Association of Winter Olympic Sports includes: IBU, the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, the International Curling Federation, the International Hockey Federation, the International Skating Union, the International Sled Federation, the International Ski Federation.

This is a big scandal. They too have played in their war against Russia. Bach and WADA kill the Olympic movement

Bach seems to have been heavily pricked by the eggs :d
Now I think that no one doubts that this campaign has nothing to do with the fight against doping. This is a real political order and a fight against Russia. All the stars and leaders were removed. Although everyone understood this already. True, it must be said that Russia itself gave an excuse, especially Mutko
(I'm sorry for my French)

    • Olivia Weaver was up 9-4 in the 5th game.  Hania El Hammamy  then scored 5 straight points to tie it up.  Then, took the lead with a sixth straight point, then won with a 7th straight point, taking the Sprott Tournament of Champions in New York.  Still, congrats to Weaver for bringing home second place!  (And congrats to El Hammamy...what a streak at the end!)
    • One thing working in our favor with Luge is that Women's Doubles is just one sled per NOC, so I like our chances there.  We'll be 3rd or 4th in the Relay (one of my favorite events)...if everyone slides cleanly, we'll probably be 4th, behind , , and ...but anything can happen in the relay.  (I think in my official predictions I had us 3rd.  Wishful thinking, I suppose.)
    • They can also just count DNSs to handle this specific situation.
    • I suspect IBSF will make the point system equal in the future regardless on the number of competitors.   My fear is that they will make the awarded points lower, like only 90 points to the winner to balance it out.
