This could be *VERY* complicated for Ireland (with the whole Northern Irish thing that’s too political to get into here) but  aside from athletes with Irish parentage (or grandparents!) born in the US, GB or Australia there aren’t too many. Ben Fletcher in judo represented :GBR in Rio and has switched so he’s noteworthy of those Irish family connections

Rowers Sanita Puspure from :LAT  (she previously represented them at junior level) and Monika Dukarska from :POL (she has only represented Ireland) have been resident for many years (and moved for economic, not sporting reasons)

Again, avoiding those from Northern Ireland, marathon runner Sinead Diver was born and raised in Ireland and moved to :AUS quite late in her career. Dublin born Sailor Saskia Tidey represented Ireland in Rio and switched to :GBR for this Olympic cycle

Oh I forgot the Gadirova twins that represent :GBR were born in :IRL to  :AZE parents

Surely in the case of  GB and France it would be easier to make a list of athletes who DON'T  have origins from other countries

Remember the British used to rule the world until the Americans took over.... ;)

Do you know something about Kenny Bednarek, his surname sounds so polish

He must have been adopted by a Polish-American family and simply took their name. There's a lot of Polish immigrants living in Wisconsin.

    • But it seems to us that Norway wasn't as strong in Lillehammer 1994 as it was later? And not just in women's events. Generally, until 2000, Norway was much weaker in women's biathlon and women`s cross-country skiing. I remember in the 1990s, Italy's biggest rivals, Belmondo and di Centa, were Russia, when Norway somewhere further back and only in the classic style. Bente Martinsen- Skari, this is their first really strong girl in cross country, just about 2000, just like Liv Grete Skielbreid- Pioree in women`s biathlon at similar times.   Do you think, that is there any hope that thanks to the popularity of Haaland and football in general in Norway in recent years, winter sports such as biathlon or cross-country skiing will lose a little bit, becouse that?

    • This suggestion  @Dnl  made some months ago has also been implemented.   In each club, I have added a "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" record which takes the content from the Qualification by Nation tracker of that NOC.   People who see it can not edit the content, but it will be automatically updated once @Matej will update the record, and if you notice any mistake feel free to report it to Matej or in the record itself.   Club's admins can now edit the name of the section into their own language or change the spelling, I have used "Milano Cortina 2026 Qualification Tracker" for all the clubs. To do so, go inside the section, then click on "Manage Club"-"Edit this database Record" and change the name of the section:     By the way, if you are not a club's admin but you would like to edit things inside the club just let me know and I will give you the rights to do so. There can be more "admins" inside the club with the rights to edit and organize the sections, and that's not a role that require time or commitment.   Let's try to make all the clubs active during MiCo and when the LA28 qualifications will start!
