Surprising, sure, but mostly weird he was in the B group at all (entry weights I guess?). Given his recent results and age, one might have expected a great performance.

I remember it was done by Om Yun-chol in 2012 where he won gold. He was already the favourite to medal/win back then so I imagine maybe it was done as an intimidation tactic?

They also could not find him in the olympic village, some stories claims they found him in the canteen and hurried him come on man they are waiting for you at the medal ceremony
