Athletics 2018 Discussion Thread

A Ryder Cup-style match between Europe and the United States will be staged ahead of the IAAF World Championships in Doha in the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk, Belarus, on 9-10 September 2019. 

The Match will take place across two days with the following programme of men’s and women’s events contested during these two days.

 

Track:

100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 110m hurdles (M), 100m hurdles (W), 400m hurdles, 3000m steeplechase, 4x100m relay, Medley Relay (mixed 200m-200m-400m-800m, with 1 woman and 1 man running 200 m in the order defined by each team, and then a woman 400m and a man at 800m)

 

Jumps:

High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump

 

Throws:

Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw, Javelin Throw

 

The four divisions of the 2019 European Athletics Team Championships from 9-11 August will act as the qualifying event for the match.

So, technically, in theory, we could see them become an real NOC or at least a World Championships contender

I wouldn't get too ahead of ourselves, but there are definitely forces trying to make that happen :)

3.  :UKR Yuliya Levchenko - 1.98

4.  :UKR Yaroslava Mahuchikh - 1.96 (=U18 WB :yikes::clap:, U20 ER)

horrendous 1.80 for Iryna Herashchenko.

quite modest 1.80 for Alina Shukh from heptathlon.

:BLR Maksim Nedasekau won men's competitions with 2.30.
