And so tough in Norway, am guessing from the timing she's just bern told she's not A Group.this year.

:GBR Olympic Diver Grace Reid.  3 times Olympian, Commonwealth & European.Gold, but like many divers just could not crack the Chinese.

British cycling track sprinter Jack Carlin.  Long career, lots of medals, but just never beat the Australians or Dutch for that big gold.

Good job Richardson switched or the British team would be very short 

(Through I’m not very opptimsitc about LA for :GBR - I fear an Atlanta remake)

Reading between the lines, I'm guessing Team GB are going to be financing one or other of the youngsters going forward, rather than 29-year old Carlin.  Hence the decision.

Ledecky is a rare exception.

swimming in Australia is a fully professional sport, their stars earn a lot of money

 

but, yeah...they usually give up earlier than average, mainly because they start their pro career when they're still kids
