wanna count how many times our athletes were slovenian here ?

I almost had a heart attack when Bandi entered the boxing ring as first slovak boxer afer 25 years just to hear the arena speaker: in the blue corner representing Sloveeeeeeenia

you can watch it on ESP, he repeated it 3 times even also after his win. (Monday 26th July morning session)

Trust me, I know how often the Slovakia names gets mixed up with Slovenia. And it kinda never happens to Slovenia being called Slovakia. It's always Slovakia being called Slovenia from what I can tell over the years :p

I am guessing some unforeseen marathon medal. You never know. :d

I really doubt sadly, They failed enormously in boxing, Bidani out for covid, Makhloufi for injury. so thats it. disappointing games for them, I know the olympics are not only about medals but I realy feel sad for them. I would love to see every nation winning something and enjoying a success, not onl the same nations again and again

The shot put podium is the exact same as it was in Rio 2016. Apparently this the first time a podium has been repeated like this.

“Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair” - Nelson Mandela

Thiam 54,68. That could be enough for gold medal with 2:15 run in 800?

This was likely to be enough for Thiam, but she does need to hope Vetter doesn't do anything extraordinary in group B. Vidts in pole position for bronze meanwhile, anything above 50 really should be enough for Vetter to secure a medal as long as she doesn't completely explode on the 800

    • Found a couple of prediction websites.   This link was posted on reddit a couple of days ago by the user thevorminatheria.   The Italian sports website OA Sport also came up with their own predictions. They have a link in the article to the latest magazine issue which details all of the medalists.

    • Olivia Weaver was up 9-4 in the 5th game.  Hania El Hammamy  then scored 5 straight points to tie it up.  Then, took the lead with a sixth straight point, then won with a 7th straight point, taking the Sprott Tournament of Champions in New York.  Still, congrats to Weaver for bringing home second place!  (And congrats to El Hammamy...what a streak at the end!)
    • One thing working in our favor with Luge is that Women's Doubles is just one sled per NOC, so I like our chances there.  We'll be 3rd or 4th in the Relay (one of my favorite events)...if everyone slides cleanly, we'll probably be 4th, behind , , and ...but anything can happen in the relay.  (I think in my official predictions I had us 3rd.  Wishful thinking, I suppose.)
    • They can also just count DNSs to handle this specific situation.
    • I suspect IBSF will make the point system equal in the future regardless on the number of competitors.   My fear is that they will make the awarded points lower, like only 90 points to the winner to balance it out.
    • Olivia Asselin (freestyle skiing)   She was at the X Games competing this week. Another medal hope out the drain, she was in the form of her life
    • You'd have to ask her simpatic boyfriend from the USA about that, who is often seen at competitions with her participation
