Not really ... far worse than his previous jump.

Wellinger also had far worse conditions than during the Trial round.

Really ...

In the trial round he was lightyears ahead of everyone else, in the qualification it was much closer. Either his jump in the trial round was much better or everyone else got suddenly much better in the qualification ... what do you think?

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

It's a shame that there are athletes eliminated before the opening ceremony (though I imagine most will compete in the large hill)

Indeed, they should all take part in LH.

:GBR Matthew Parr was the only athlete who ended his competition before the OC back in 2014 (he took part in the figure skating team event, men's short program). Only extra athlete this time is :ISR Buchanan, whose competition however will be on day 1.

According to the wind Points,  he was among the Jumpers with the best wind conditions in trial round. Only Forfang and Tande had it better: http://medias2.fis-ski.com/pdf/2018/JP/3095/2018JP3095RTRIA.pdf

In Qualification he had the worst wind of all athletes who finished in the top 40. http://medias2.fis-ski.com/pdf/2018/JP/3095/2018JP3095RLQ.pdf

Of course the conditions were all around fair, and the differences weren't that high. But nonetheless there is a difference between having basically the best wind of all jumpers and having the worst, and the points can't compensate everything. Personally, I'm glad that Wellinger can win a round even with more tailwind than his rivals.

This time  a weaker performance by Zografski in the final trial round

My favourite Volleyball position: LIBERO. You ask why? Look here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyIOarNAONk
