Freestyle Skiing at the Winter Olympic Games 2018

What a horrible result, this is insanity. The two best athletes in the world without a medal ... what a fitting result to those olympics.

Edit: 10 easy points for the bet contest though ... thanks to whoever came up with the question! :yes

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Kelsey Serwa, if nothing else, really overperforms at the Olympics. Fifth in Vancouver, second in Sochi, first in Pyeongchang. That's pretty impressive. Really happy for her, though honestly would have been fine with either Smith or Naslund. I feel really bad for Naslund actually, bad time to have the worst result of her season :(

Also what a great race by Brittany Phelan, after 15th in the Slalom in 2014, switched from Alpine to Freestyle, now gets her best ski cross result ever at the Olympics

Update on Chris Del Bosco:
After a full assessment by Canadian Olympic Committee’s doctors, it is confirmed that Del Bosco has four rib fractures, a pulmonary contusion, and a stable pelvis fracture. He is in the hospital, in stable condition and continues to be monitored.

Yeah, read this today.  Good news, all things considering.  I saw his crash just before boarding a plane so I had no idea what happened for hours, but I knew it looked bad.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
