I found this on UIPM site and some results with this format. Apparently there isn't any elimination, but who know

@Vojthas Interviewed the UIPM Secretary General a while back about this new format.

I think you are right, they must have misunderstood it. It looks the 12 athletes will qualify for the big final from the qualifiers contested earlier. Each competition will last 90 minutes.

Thanks God, they're stupid but not that stupid :p Onestly we can expect everything from the IOC...

  • 1 month later...

Ugh, these are threads one doesn't want to read back. Most of the things I had completely missed in the chaos of last winter, I was until now living under the assumption the 50k race walk had been saved after all, instead of being murdered

And all the quota reductions, what the hell. Not doing wonders for my enthousiasm for next week, which was starting to get high :hairpull:

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.

    • I don't think he'll mind too much
    • But his time isn`t valid at track record.
    • Vladimir Semirunniy dropped a 12:28 in the 10000m B division, which qualifies him for the Olympics as the fastest time this season (with the big asterisk that it was done in a quad start). Must be a real relief for the Polish team given he isn't looking likely to qualify for the 10000m (or the 5000m) by ranking.   Really problematic that they rank pair start and quad start times together, but whatever.   Also, the Wikipedia page for qualification is updated through the second day.
