nations favorites for tokyo 2020 ?

Probably not. European team won gold medal last time in Barcelona (by winning with Poland in final, damn it!). From that time only two European teams play in final: Spain in Sydney and Germany in Rio. Do you know when last time there was two European teams in semifinals? Yes, you're right, in Barcelona ;) After this: Atlanta - Portugal was 4th, Sydney - Spain with silver, Athens - Italy with bronze, Bejing - Belgium 4th, London - none European team in semis, Rio - Germany with silver. I think favorites should be from Americas, from 1996 there are always two teams from one or both Americas in semis and they won four last olympic tournaments (Argentina 2004 and 2008, Mexico 2012, Brazil 2016).

Looking at the pools, I’m pretty sure of Germany and France. Then Spain. The last will probably be disputed through a match between Italy (I hope) vs one between Denmark and Serbia

France (they will win gold in Tokyo if they want to), Spain and England. Other spot should go to Italy or Germany.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Though group for Italy, our chances are now are very low, maybe a little chance for one OG spot (England will not play), but I'm not sure this is the real target for our U21.

We hope in the home-ground for the first match against Spain, if we not lose have a chance to go through (but we don't underestimate Belgium...)

Yes, yes, underestimate Poland and you will end like Portugal :raspberry:

Just kidding, I know that every point will be succes for our team :nopompom:

    • Finals are set    An all-Canadian final on the women’s side, as Team Homan looks to win their third title of the season (and improve to 18-1) against a hungry Team Einarson who have had a less than ideal start to the season, they were also the last Canadian team to beat Homan over a year ago (same event coincidentally), while on the men’s side it’ll be a battle between Olympic medalists as Team Mouat goes against Team Gushue!
    • Yeah, it was clear. But i repeat, we need it? I think no.

    • In the past the ISU has now allowed countries without a Federation to compete.
    • yeah I know    I mean it wasn't a different team specific for that sport. it was the same CC team participating in both sports.
    • It is run by a different federation though
    • from what I heard , Iran has registered to participate in Alpine, CC skiing, SkiMo, Skating (they didn't mention which discipline ) and ... (this one will be surprising ) ... Curling    Curling is not a sure thing yet, the NOC has to approve it. the team is very new. I mean very very new, only few months ago they gathered few people to start the sport  you can't lose 100-0 in Curling, right ?    anyway it will be first time ever Iran participating outside of FIS disciplines. ( I didn't count Ski orienteering in 2011 which was the same as CC)   nobody cares about winter sports here. therefore finishing last won't have consequences. they can afford sending very weak teams. (which is not the case for the main Asian Games)

    • 100 days to go until the first multi-sports games of the 2025
    • 11 medals out of 15 athletes. for whatever reason  we sent an incomplete team of 16 athletes (only 1 left for tomorrow) I wish I knew why  I can guess though   the result is indeed very good in such a competitive sport but lack of talent was never our problem in taekwondo. it was always there probably much more than any other country.    but the problem is the transition to the senior team. most of previous junior world champions never even made the senior team. (the new federation is doing better in this regard though)
