Bjørndalen did back in 2002, but it's a first for the women :)

Thanks! So is Dahlmeier now officially the second best biathlete ever?

Happy for Kuzmina, but Laura winning was never in doubt. Bescond is so mediocre, yet somehow flukes these 3rd places from time to time.

Hopefully we see some new (but not fluke) medalists in individual and mass start, but favorites like Makarainen, Eckhoff, Wierer and Domracheva are not in their shooting form at all so they basically only have a chance at the mass start.

Anais Bescond once again proves that she can prepare well and be a contender for a medal at the major championships.

On the other hand, I am really worried for Kaisa Makarainen and Dorothea Wierer. Doro's best chance is the Individual or a relay competition, with Kaisa, she has had relative success in individuals and mass starts, but it's not looking too good for her.

Another thing that I would like to see is a German woman, other than Dahlmeier, winning a medal, because it feels like that just doesn't happen anymore :d

Domracheva has 3 golds.

I know ... it was a joke. She probably isn't even top 5 ever on the women's side + Björndalen, Fourcade and probably some others on the mens side are also better.

    • Because of the low number of votes some categories may be cancelled (under the rule that at least two people should vote for a nominee). I may give a few more days for voting but I guess there's just no interest this year
    • In Italy in recent years there is simply been a problem with training new talents and looking at Colturi, the problem probably isn`t a lack of talented youngsters but poor training. Colturi and Collomb were at similar level a few years ago but where are they now? And this is the same year of born - 2006. Since Goggia and Brignone young time we haven`t trained a single champion. It`s the same with men. Vinatzer is wasting away and regressing in development, the same with della Vite in the giant slalom. The problem is it the outdated system which proved effective at the beginning of the 21st century but not now This also applies to other winter disciplines with a few exceptions.
