This is one of the rare times where you and I will disagree I think. The Winter Olympics are for winter sports, not for summer sports masquerading as winter sports.

 

I want more nations to compete at the Winter Olympics, but we shouldn’t have to ruin the games to achieve that.

New World Record!!! Joey Chesnut eats 75 hot dogs + buns. Miki Sudo would have actually placed second in the men’s competition today.

There was a sports science episode made a while back on the anatomy, physical demand, and mental strength involved in competitive eating, and it was fascinating.

How many damages? It's not like they eat dozens of hotdogs at a time every day :p 

 

Quite often competitive eaters live like athletes. Which is why people are often surprised to find out they often aren't fat...at all. They get a huge amount of calories once every X weeks, but save some calories in between by dieting and training so that overall, they stay fit.

    • I am going to use this as evidence for my belief that the only way for baseball to continue growing is to increase the importance of International tournaments.   Because shocassing stars in those environments is how the MLB can grow their viewership abroad.
    • If this were Milan from 20 years ago, it would be a success but currently it`s just a European average team and on top of that it is not in top form. Milan's defense this season resembles Swiss cheese.
    • Bologna is unfortunately is a team for the Conference League, not the Champions League   Juventus are plagued by injuries and are struggling. On top of that they have a terrible schedule in the CL. In their case qualifying for the play-offs would be a success in this season but I'm not sure how many points they will need to do that. Actually they chave 8 points.
    • Four events with medals awarded halfway into the first day, and already six NOCs are on the medal table
