Judo Qualification for Summer Olympic Games 2016

Recommended Posts

I have another question: I know qualification ranking closes now, but, will this ranking also be used for seeding at the olympics? or that will be done with the very last ranking before Rio?

The draw will be conducted by officials from the IJF on 4 August 2016 at 2.00pm. Two (2) members from each team will be invited to attend. The top eight judoka per weight category from the IJF World Ranking List, updated at the end of the qualification period (30 May 2016), will be seeded. All other judoka will be randomly drawn

what does happen if some countries reject the quota?

like my son says.... MESS!

if someone who went through the top 22/top 14 rejects it it goes to the next one , however if it's someone who rejects the continental quota then it goes back into the continental quota list. so if south africa rejects the quota it goes into the african continental quota. If there is no one else to take , which is possible because africa and oceania already dont have enough judokas to fill the quota then it just goes to top athlete not yet qualified as long as no one from that country qualified in his weight (also have to be whatever gender have quotas remaining)

example: -48KG female..... after qualified directly, there are payet ( continental quota) rishony (continental quota),moscatt (no quota, because already 2 european continental quotas) .in case of  REJECT  of somebody.who will qualify?payet? or moscatt? i ask this because if the pass goes to payet ,moscatt become continental quota of italy and marconcini (italy) doesn't take the quota (that at moment he has)

    • Suspect strongly that the Sultan of  is behind Global Wushu!     Another one is long distance & ultra triathlon.  There are literally millions being paid out in prize money to attract big name athletes from several sports, huge FTA TV coverage but seemingly no prospect of any profit.   And the classic is obstacle racing, which has effectively bought up the ownership of Modern Pentathlon.
    • apparently the Japanese organizers rejected OCA's nice request    now OCA is ordering them to do so in a not-so-nice language https://oca.asia/media/attachments/memberships_subcommittee/5/Decision_-_103rd_OCA_EB_Meeting_5ypY8y4.pdf   the last line is very interesting   I knew this for a while, for example that's why Jujjtsu is included in all of OCA events (despite being the worst sport to watch) but good to see OCA admit this. so with the corrupt OCA you can buy your way in. how much they paid the OCA officials for this ?   OK I know Qatar is financially supporting Padel (and UAE is paying everything for Jujitsu) but who is behind Teqball?  ! I don't think Thailand can do that.
    • Important information on team Aerials.   There is no AIN`s team at the start list of the world cup despite of the fact that belorussians have enough athletes to have a team.   https://medias4.fis-ski.com/pdf/2026/FS/8119/2026FS8119SLF1.pdf
    • By the way. It looks like no AIN`s will be in biathlon by the start of the Olympics. Russians filed an appeal to CAS to get AIN statuses in biathlon. But IBU did not agree to have hearings with short procedure. So the decisons are not expected before the end of qulifying period. (FIS could do the same but its top-officials prefer to help russians be back as quick as possible).   I would like to see Dolidovich at the Games. Because she is a real refugee of the relatively high level.
