A certain team crowdfunded their tour for World Women's T20 World Cup Qualifiers. While ICC covers some, those like jerseys kits physios etc aren't.

That crowdfunded team made of locals beat one of the favourites :ZIM today.

I'm talking about none other than the debutants at ICC event :VAN Vanuatu.

Tried to open a new topic for the Women's World Cup like the one for Men's but i guess the common thread will have to do it for the girls ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, some interesting matches on this first four days i would say, especially the defeat of India agains New Zealand.

The 4th best team in the world beating the 3rd best team in the world is not a huge surprise though.

true, but was expecting India to get troubles from Australia, not from New Zealand, and specially not by being bowled out. Makes the group phase interesting though :d

Well i guess i understand now why Australia has won the last three World Cups and is the main favorite to also grab this one.

Was expecting good fight but instead got a walk in the park from the australians against New Zealand. Bowled out and losing by 60 runs. What a team!

This week next matches are expectingly less interesting, don't expect any surprises. A good one will happen next 13 October, with Australia vs India :yes

    • Dutch Winter Olympics is all about speedskating and shorttrack.    In shorttrack we have a problem since Suzanne Schulting (3 times Olympic Champion) broke her ankle this year. After since it looks like she concentrates on speedskating on the long track. But in that sport she is not really that good. For shorttrack we have medal chances for Xandra Velzeboer on the 500 meters and Jens van 't Wout on the men's distances, although Danjinou from Canada is in a league of his own.   In speedskating we have several medal chances, but I'm expecting not that much gold, considering Jordan Stolz (500/1000/1500) and Davide Ghiotto (5000/10000) winning the gold medals on the classic distances almost for sure. There will be some silver and bronze on the men's side however (Patrick Roest (5000), Kjeld Nuis (1500), Tim Prins (1000) and maybe Jenning de Boo (500)).   On the women's side there is Miho Takagi (1000/1500) and Ragne Wiklund (3000/5000) and the Canadian women. But also chances for Dutch gold with Jutta Leerdam (1000), Joy Beune (1500/3000), Marijke Groenewoud (mass/3000) and Merel Conijn (5000). Unless Leerdam will continue travelling with Jake Paul and focus on her boyfriend's stupid influence-career more than on her own career.    2 medals in short track, 10 medals in speedskating, but not many golden!
    • Yes, you're right. But the point is that the private sporting agency supersedes national law on this subject.
    • It was assistent coach and former player Adam Szalai. He was brought to the locker room to rest up a bit, and then was taken away by ambulance, but without much haste: other than being somewhat groggy, it seems like he was getting better.

    • Looks like the person has been taken away, hopefully in relatively ok condition, and we're continuing the match.
    • nice (curious) description of what happened
    • no, since Vlhova is still out, there were 2 girls tied for 7th in the start list, so the first group was expanded to 8 just for Today (and Miki was "unlucky" and grabbed the bib no.8)
    • Things have gone horribly wrong in the Netherlands - Hungary match. Someone from the Hungarian dugout started shaking and becoming very unwell, CPR has been or is being performed and the match has been suspended for a while now. No idea yet who it is (player, staff, no idea).
