Summer Paralympic Games 2016 Official Thread

Pakistan's bronze medal means that a new record number of nations have won a medal at a paralympic games, with 77 nations now winning a medal! With more opportunitites for Sri Lanka later today that could climb to 78 by nightfall!

absolutely amazing! our 6th medal. second silver. Her 3rd medal in 3rd event in Rio Paralympics. Silver medal is her worst result so far in Rio :lol:

 

with this medal we are 13th place in current medal tally..crazy :lol:

just a though in swimming.our swimmer branko đurič(who has only one arm) compete in same pool with guys who has two arms or one arm and two legs. i dont undestand how they create rules to be equal?

His one arm will be near to fully functioning, however the athletes with two arms will have weaker arms that have been damagaed through diseases that cannot be immediately seen. The power of one arm will be roughly equal to the other competitors 2 arms in order to make the competition fair!

We were always better at paralympics than CZE, But at the olympics it´s usually the opposite :d

Must be something in the water. The quad doubles bronze medal match has just ended after four hours and twenty five minutes which makes it the longest wheelchair tennis match in history. :woot:

    • Franchi had a similarly impressive performance at the 2023 World Championships on the same distance but later she completly missing. I hope that with Gismondi will be different, especially since she was already a great talent in her junior years. The problem in Italy is that for the past 15 years, aside from Pellegrino, there has been a miss of stability in other athletes: there are some booms of excellent form, but later they disappear. I also worry that funding for cross-country skiing will be cut after the Cortina Olympics.
